Yoko Kanno in lossless 5.1 would be worth the buy alone. Maybe a box set release by Christmas so Right Stuf can put it on sale?

Will be checking out the first episode on CR in the next day or two. Hopefully the series lives up to its promise. If so, I'll definitely be interested in the BD release.

It was quite obvious from the start that they were going to put this out on Bluray.

The very same. And I'm just gonna say it: here's hoping that Stephen Foster doesn't direct the dub. I know he's their "go-to" guy, but his track record is really hit or miss. |

Having just watched the first episode, I'm joining this bandwagon too. This is the second season in a row that Sentai's quickly grabbed something that I really like. (Last season they got Bodacious Space Pirates) It's getting ahead of myself, I know, but I was getting ahead of myself before it was even broadcast and having seen the first episode has given me no reason to stop.
That's another bandwagon that I'm on. I have really liked some of his work, but his inconsistency is well known. Kids on the Slope would evidently be tricky to dub and if they're going to emblazon, "from the director and composer of Cowboy Bebop," all over it, which they rightly will, they had better bring their A+ game, or hire somebody who can. That name sets certain expectations for the quality of the English dub. (My fantasy, improbably, irrational and impractical as it might be, is for them to hire Mary-Elizabeth McGlynn to direct this thing and sneak as many cameos from the Cowboy Bebop cast in as is feasible) |
