II felt so bad for Maria from the little we learned about her in this episode. Animals are the best and wanting nothing more than to bury your face in a furries fluff but being unable to because your body will rebel against you has to suck so much. It's another small way the show highlights how great games are, that it lets you do things you can't do in real life.

But yea, this episode was fantastic. Really curious how this fight will go since compared to the last one Sunraku and Psyger-0 aren't in any way ready for this fight.

yea that would never happen!

i mean take a look at pve games like destiny 2, path of exile or diablo 4!

especially the former which have immobilizing debuffs like stasis and strand!

there would be zero chance bungie or any gaming company will allow a debuff to completely incapacitate an actual raid or dungeon boss like you would do on a regular ad!

that type of ability would be a balancing nightmare for any dev team! especially if the game have both pvp and pve in it!

One thing I am thankful for with SLF is the fact that not only have we been given two seasons, but two 2-cour seasons, and I truly wish this was more common in anime now. With one season ending and another coming, this has been on my mind a lot. I'm tired of getting into a new show and new characters only for it to end after 12 episodes.

Now, it's a fair point to complain about the filler and side-tracks that SLF has go into, but the fact that we have nearly 50 episodes over two seasons so far makes me personally more forgiving of all its digressions. I can't imagine this show being greatly improved by cutting the episode count in half.

For that reason, if nothing else, I will continue to show my support for this show. Looking forward to the next cour!

Vow of Silence can completely trivialize Aldrich in Dark Souls 3 and he's a major boss to say nothing of the Margit and Mohg Shackles in Elden Ring where with proper prep you can easily one-shot them. Cheesing bosses with strats like this has been a thing for ages. As an aside, I MASSIVELY disagree with NeverConvex's opinion about virtual series death thing.

that much i know. D2 players like me always use cheese strats in raid bosses until the devs eventually nerfs it and those strats for dark souls 3 & elden ring bosses have already been nerfed accourding to those twitch streamers!

but what im talking about using an actual move in an IRL game boss that animalia used on the night emperor aka using an abilty to paralyze a boss ala hand of tartarus!

the chances any game ever have a weapon/staff with the same ability as animalia's underworld key is very unlikely to occur!

It used to be fairly common in FFXI. The Chainspell + Stun strategy was often used in boss fights to lock up the monster at key points, or it could even help turn a battle around if things went unexpectedly sideways. The biggest drawback was that it had a 2 hour cool down.

Question:

Does Sunraku actually knows Psyger is a woman or a dub thing?

In my limited japanese I don't recognise anything that says Sunraku knows, yet the dub uses the "She" pronoun.

It's not like he can guess for her speech either, since Rei speaks like a samurai lord instead of the way japanese girls speak, any person would guess Psyger is a 50-something guy with that way of speech.

Its kinda throwing me off the fact that they are doing that, either have him use gender neutral or have him ask her because you never know in these games, specially Sunbraku who already has met 2 males with girl avatars and one girl with a male one.

I hope they don't do the "You are a girl!?" scene later, it will be awkward.

Oh, I think you can consider that development inevitable as it fits perfectly with the show's sensibilities and sense of humor! A better question from Sunraku would be "do they like playing with me because they like me or because they like-like me?" and "Wait, doesn't Psyger sound like Seiga as in Rei Saiga from school"? With how the show has gone out of it's way to show gender fluidity in avatars I think we are expected to think Sunraku doesn't necessarily know or care if Psyger 0 is a woman or not, but rather what the answers to those other questions are...
