I just wanted to let whoever's in charage of the forums know that I didn't have to re-create my account again - it let me log on fine even though I joined in May

Oh, it *will* happen again?...That makes me feel safe, hehe. However, I agree with the idea that you'll be prepared next time. I just hope you won't follow the "Humans are the only animal that falls twice with the same stone"...
By the way, as I said in other post, well done^^

Does this mean we're on orange alert?

Well an account made in May isn't "an account on the forums between 7/23 and 8/3", is it? ^^;

No. However, there was a discussion going on at the temp forums where a board power-that-be mentioned that everyone from May onward would have to re-join when the regular board came backup (as it was I had to re-register to use the temp forums ).
It looks like ANN had the board backed up better than they originally thought, which I'm sure made more than just my day .

Apparently I spoke badly, because that was not my intention.
What I was saying was that, because the data of the temporary forum came from 5/14 (just like the rest of the site) that it would not contain any user accounts beyond 5/14.
The temporary forum data was separate from the back-up data that we were busy recovering for the past week. I had been referring only to the temporary forum, when I said that users who made accounts after may would need to recreate them. Likewise, when the forum was restored, we deleted all the accounts made between 7/23 and 8/3, and thus (this time) THOSE would need to be remade.

Ohhh. Sorry I misunderstood you . I was worried I'd need to be here when the regular forums came back up to re-register and I was just happy to find out it wasn't necessary.

I really did not expect the site to be up and running again so quickly! I am disappointed, however, because I had just discovered the forums, and I did not find the link to viewing the temp forum until it was too late. But now that the forums and the site are up, I guess it will take me a while to go through all the topics... And I hate coffee. How am I going to stay up to commit such a feat?
