From Amazon, around a week and a half ago:
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood OVA Collection BD/DVD This was "the one that got away" for awhile. I bought up the main FMA '09 TV series and later the Sacred Star of Milos after finding out Funi's licenses were expiring back in 2016, but the OVA collection was already scarce and expensive at the time. But maybe thanks to Aniplex USA's Blu-Ray collections, the price of Funi's OVA collection got down to around $30. From RSA's Discotek sale: Battle Athletes OVA/TV SD-BD Isuca BD Kamen no Maid Guy BD Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl BD UQ Holder manga vol. 27 Sankarea manga vol. 4 Replacing the old Media-Blasters sub-only DVDs for Kashimashi. Never bothered with M-B's dubbed re-release due it being on DVD-R. |

I haven't bought Manga in forever. But I love Komi Can't Communicate anime so much that I've been buying the manga. I have 1-5 and 19-21 now. Slowly I'll fill in the gap as time goes on. Hope to find good deals here and there.

Just placed my 1st-ever order at Amazon.co.jp, since my usual place, CDJapan, doesn't seem to be stocking any version of the release...
【Amazon.co.jp限定】映画「五等分の花嫁」特装版Blu-ray(三方背収納ケース(描き下ろし絵柄)+メガジャケ(描き下ろし絵柄)+早期予約特典:オリジナルポストカード付) [Blu-ray] that would be the Amazon.co.jp exclusive version of the Quintessential Quintuplets Movie, streeting 12/21 and expected here with Amazon Global Priority shipping btwn 12/24-12/27. Now I saw the movie subtitled in a theater yesterday and while I am hopeful this will be a Japanese Blu-ray with English subtitles, I'm not gonna hold my breath, though I can still follow alomg in raw Japanese since I have seen it (spoiler[and because it follows the manga ending which I read a while back ])... I can always buy the US release in 2023 (either BD or digital) in order to have subs, but the Japanese packaging (see 2nd picture at https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/product/B0BD4B195S/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) is too gorgeous, the full-color manga volume, and the Blu-ray of the movie will surely have a higher bitrate than Crunchyroll's disc will next year, especially since they look to be splitting the movie & extras to 2 discs from that picture... |

That may be a factor but the main reason for higher bitrates on Japanese discs is because they cram less on each disc, so they don't have to compress the content so much... plus only one audio track, usually a lossless PCM track... but given this is a theatrical release, possibly a Dolby True HD or Dolby Master Audio 5.1 mix Either way I am looking forward to having it on my shelf, even if it turns out it does not have English subtitles. |
