Actually, I saw I.G. mentioned in the credits, but it was probably a secondary role.

I wasn't really up to the task of checking the credits when I wrote that, so I just said that they weren't responsible for any of the pieces, rather than say they didn't work on...

Linkin Park? Who cares? Production I.G. is a company last I remember. If people shell out the bucks (or Yen in their case) then let them get payed. They do commercials and whatever else is presented to them, a music video is no different.
I do not like how anime is deemed this "trendy" as it has been by MTV-viewing america. If I meet another teeny-bopper who claims to like anime "for years" and they merely names Ninja Scroll and several episodes of Pokemon as anime they have seen I will vomit.
But that's my snobby anime-fan opinion.
As for "Also, do not use "gay" to mean "stupid"."
Then don't use "gay" to mean "homosexual" either.
gay=HAPPY!

Not sure about why other than they might just like japanese stuff, but the t-shirts for Hybrid Theory had "Linkin Park" written in a font that I guess was supposed to look like hiragana and they had bits of kanji written in the cd insert. I look forward to seeing the video, I think Linkin Park is a great band even if they are absurdly overplayed.

In one of their videos they included Gundam Models from 0080 and Char's Counterattack.

Did you ever think it might be because one of the members actually likes anime, they have as much right to like anime as you.

The number of unintelligent posts in this thread sickens me. So you don't like the band. Back off. You don't need to watch the "boy band’s” *where you guys get off calling them a boyband when a boyband is something like N'sync is beyond me* newest music video. If you don't like the subject of the thread, and can't do anything other than troll out your stupidity and announce to the world your lack of respect then don't bother posting.
On another note, does anyone know who is going to be drawing the manga portion of this project?

Where have you guys been? ^^;; Linkin Park liking anime is nothing new. I've seen anime style characters on their T-shirts and in their videos before I even fell in love with the band.
As for the "omg linkin park iz a boy band it suxx0rs", you don't like the band, you can back off. Linkin Park happens to be my favorite band, and I didn't even know what any of the members looked like until I wantched the Numb music video.
In fact, *gasp!* I have more respect for Linkin Park's music than I do for Production I.G.'s anime. I don't think I've been especially fond of any of their in-studio work.
Linkin Park making an anime music video isn't going to self-destruct your tapes of Kill Bill and Ghost in the Shell, so I don't really see what the problem is.
That said, this is KICKASS!! I can't wait. I think most American music videos suck, but the Linkin Park ones seem to be a cut above the rest from what I've seen, both in content and in timing. I bet they'll be able to do something good with the anime footage.

I can't see the harm in it. If you don't like Linkin Park then don't watch the video or buy their music. I think it will introduce young people to anime and they might become interested in it. I would think that someone in the band really likes anime. From what I've seen with my friends and people I know, you either love or hate anime. Just like people love or hate Linkin Park.

For all the Linkin Park fans:
Here is some info from a fan site...
"Mark May 29th in your calendars and make sure your free betwen 9:30 - 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. MTV2, the channel dedicated to rock largely, is going to air a show coined "Linkin Park makes a video". And the video in the spotlight is no other than Breaking the habit."

Linkin Park, eh, at least I appreciate that they've been more than a flash in the pan and have stuck around longer than most of the other quasi-punk/metal/rap/rock bands of the late 90's, early 0's.
But, seriously, most all modern rock music seems to have been born out of some illicit union between Cheap Trick's Live From Bangladesh, AC/DC's Back in Black , and Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet. In other words, tuned for maximum sales no matter what the genre. There hasn't been a good selling Trick of the Tail, Days of Future Passed, or Leftoverture since Pink Floyd blew the lid off concept albums with The Wall (which, if you're a fan of mature animation is something you should honestly look into).
Linkin Park paying a top notch studio to animate one of their music videos is a neat thing all unto its own. But if you're going to debate semantics about the quality of their music versus a band like Rage Against the Machine (I think someone mentioned them before) then you'd better be willing to admit that there isn't much sonic quality there either.
And, by the way, The Clash sent out the Socialist dogma a lot better than those guys.[/i]

Linkin Park is not the worse pseudo-nu-metal band out there. They are definitly not my cup-o-tea. But the only anime fans they will add on are nothing more than a handful of linkin park fans who'll watch a couple episodes of Gundam Seed to get maybe a little better understanding of that "Falling in my skin blah blah blah" song.
If I see another Linkin Park AMV I will vomit. Of course the same could be said for Weird AL AMV's when AMV's first came on the convention scene like 8 years ago and I LOVE Al. I think it's a nerd law to like Wierd Al.
If you want to listen to some metal released within the last 5 years try Otep, Killswitch Engage, or Demon Hunter. I can't think of more right now.
Hard rock is not dead, it's just like everything else now a days, reserved for the more dedicated fans. Average Joe america just listens to hip-hop and watchs reality shows. (gross generlizations are FUN)
I really need to stop rambling.

Actually, if my LJ Linkin Park group is any indication, a lot of Linkin Park fans are *already* anime fans.
I don't like metal but I like Linkin Park. If anyone is trying to say "Linkin Park is crappy metal" or that it even tries to be crappy metal, they must be listening to some *weird* metal, because all the metal I hear makes Linkin Park sound like fifties doo-wop music in comparison.

I thought the Kill Bill animator was the same one who did that trash "Kid's Story" in The Animatrix. It had the same messy black lines all over the place and weird deformities cropping up whenever the characters moved.
Sorry about the whole "Gaytron" thing. What I meant to say is that linkin park's shallow lyrics and merely passable musical talent offend my deeper anime sensibilities. In a world where the music in anime is getting better and better, having a garbage band like them anywhere near the stuff disturbs me.

Kids story was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe ,the man behind Cowboy Bebop.
Those 'messy black lines' are called style,Kids story and the anime segment in Kill Bill both look great.
The majority of anime music is still manafactured J-Pop,hardly the deepest type of music out there.
