Agreed. I actually think that it is worse that he is so nice with it, because it pushes any idea the benevolent slave master. Why did he have to hire a slave, rather than just pay a person and be able to trust that they would do the work? It just feels extra icky that he doesn't even realise that they don't have autonomy in dealing with him, and treated like he is just a good guy rather than understanding that nothing about the relationship is equal. He didn't for an example set boundaries of what he expects of their duties, and what things he won't infringe on them so they can feel like people and not slaves, but they didn't know that they were having separate rooms until they were in there. I also think that healing the ear is kind of dumb, because it feels like it couldn't have her with a flaw in her appearance and instead have him literally heal the scars of her trauma. I take it that he plans to make her fight, considering those were the things he was excited about in her stats, and we literally know nothing else about her character, and wasn't brought up if she might not want to. I have been hoping for shows to drop, and this boringly nice guy who happens to get companions by buying slaves, looks like a good pick to do so. |
