Although he's not on the list, good thing he's on the voting section, so "The Gorilla" from Cromartie High sounded like a good choice, lol.

Personal favorite anime monkey? Monkey King Enma from Naruto. Seriously, that guy needs more love...

No love for Saru-shishou from Kemonozume? I'm a sad monkey. Not only can he fight master swordsmen to a standstill with pebbles and nuts, he can pluck the pins right out of their blades! And body surf down raging rivers - on other people's bodies!

Who would have thought that filler would be #1? lol I'm just happy Yu-Gi-Oh! is #1.
Any chance for a possible "12 Hated Anime Insects"? Insector Haga(Weevil Underwood for the 4Kids folks) would be my #1.

Humans are primates so my favourite anime primate would be Homura from PMMM. So there.
Actually, in the spirit of the article I voted for Tatara.

I believe what you meant to type was jelly filled donut, right?

At least that's how the dub mentions it, but that really is a riceball. Then again, of this entire list, I like Mankey the most, and I voted for it in the poll, but I can't quite explain why.(Maybe because of its savage(?) personality?)

My favorite monkey in Anime will always be Triston the robot monkey from Yu-Gi-Oh! he was just so damn funny as a robot monkey and besides it wasn't all bad he got to get close to Serenity.

Egad you are correct, correct in the technical (and thereby most satisfying) sense! Why did this option not occur to anyone earlier?

I voted for Mew Pudding out of sheer obligation, but all of these were pretty great choices. Though for Digimon monkeys I tend to think of Makuramon before Etemon, if only for that cringe-inducing human form he took.
And yeah, Ash's Primeape is still the best of the monkey Pokemon. No one likes you, elemental monkey trio.

I know that Son Goku is based off of the Monkey King, but the Saiyajin beast forms look more like a tailed ape. If Funi has Ōzaru translated as "great ape" rather than the literal "great monkey", I think this is a case of where the localized translation might be more true, biologically speaking, than a literal meaning.

Actually, Aipom did that quite frequently. It's the whole reason Ash became interested in it.

I really liked the monkeys from GetBackers... The pack leader went toe to toe with Ban and Ginji and beat them
