Ms. Answerman shouldn't even dignify those "letters" with a response.

Well, when I was in seventh grade I had a Pokémon website. I often got e-mails that said things like, "hi pikachu ur kewl." I'm not sure where they got the idea that I was Pikachu...

But, I guess being called Pikachu is better than being blamed for ruining the lives of thousands of whiny fanboys. Hm... actually... it's quite the compliment!

Oh, wait, I think I know what happened. Look at this excerpt from Paris Hilton's hacked T-Mobile Sidekick contact book that was leaked all over the Internet this past weekend:

Quote:
Aguilera, Christina 1-310-555-FAKE

Bundy, Rebecca mailto:answerman[at]animenewsnetwork.com

Eminem 1-917-555-JOKE

4Kids Entertainment mailto:answerman[at]animenewsnetwork.com

Lohan, Lindsay 1-555-NOT-REAL

Viz/ShoPro mailto:answerman[at]animenewsnetwork.com

Wilson, Luke 1-555-GET-LIFE

So, as you can see, people are e-mailing Rebecca because Paris Hilton can't keep her facts straight, even in her personal contact book. It's all your fault, Paris Hilton! (Shakes fist)

Good gravy, I hate blanket statements:

when can you learn, people arent gonna buy the dvd, we all freakn asain/white internet freaks.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who didn't give this guy permission to speak for them, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that Naruto will be a huge seller for ShopPro/Viz.

I guess some folks just don't realize that not every anime fan has a cable connection (or there are those of us that do and prefer to buy liscenced instead) and thus many fans are very dependant on DVD releases. I like how this person doesn't seem to care about people in that situation.

I would like to nominate Ms. Answerman for the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of her very tactful answer to the last questioner. Smile

If need be, I'll second that nomination.

I haven't heard Sanji's voice yet. I kinda got tired of watching One Piece but I have the episodes on tape.

As to My Neighbor Totoro, I can see a release date in late fall when Howl's Moving Castle is ready for a DVD release. All they need is a third movie to complete their "wave."

I'm almost 99% certain the third wave will be Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, and Whisper of the Heart, to be released around October or November.

Whisper of the Heart would be great or whatever Disney decides to put out there. Later this year...

I won't be buying the Disney version of MNTotoro. I have the Fox DVD and I thought the voices were just perfect for it. and as I only watch dubs I'm not too anxious to hear it in Japanese. I might rent Disney's DVD when it's available just to hear the difference but whatever happens, the Fox DVD is just fine with me. Wink

I have the Fox Laserdisc of it, and it's a good dub, especially considering the era in which it was done, but I think it will be well worth getting the Disney My Neighbor Totoro DVD just so you can finally see the movie in the original widescreen format and not pan-and-scanned.

And for the Japanese audio, but I'm a sub fan.

Sub-only Innocence tickled my joy bone to no end. In my opinion, they did treat it more like a foreign movie release, and that's how these movies should be treated. They are, in all their glory, foreign films. I just think that people didn't really like GiTS2:Innocence, but after the third watch I found what started off as an initially apathetic stance on the movie, to loving it. It really is a great piece of work. While there is no denying there are a lot of quotes, there aren't nearly as many as people say there are. I think the backlash came from the more subdued approach of this second film compared to the first. To that, I say go back and watch the first, it's still there. I like the second, it's similar enough to the first, yet different enough to not be a rehash. That's my opinion, ofcourse after a third view my mind could have gotten broken.

WTF? Did this individual go to school on the short rickshaw? I really hope this was a joke! If it isn't, my heart goes out to the Naruto fan community for this major embarrassment.

I share your pain, folks. Boy, do I ever share your pain ....

Thanks, haha. I honestly can't believe that that was written while this person was sober.
BTW, to any Naruto fans, wouldn't God make a good voice for the third hokage?

About the Totoro Dub:

Is really good. I think people hate because it was made by Carl Macek, the infamous owner of Stramline Pictures (If you don't what I'm talking about search for Carl Macek on Wikipedia) but I think is well made dub. So it no problem getting the Fox version.

About changing of Character Voice (a la DBZ's Goku):

The first time I heared Goku voice on Fansubs I hated it. And as far as I know so is the whole world. Every Dub I have heared have a more Male Goku voice insteed of the horrible japanese Goku.
