Besides, there's *already* a site that has hentai reviews.... It's called Anime on DVD.

I always prefered Hentaineko better then anime on dvd.

Anime on Dvd tends to focuse way to much on the high end specs of there entertanment system and how stuff looks on it then the content of the video. ie "Damn this dvd looked like crap on my 6k doller high def tv with my 1k doller dvd player and my 3k sound setup with my 500 doller monster cables" therefore it sucked. sersuly there will be like a paragraph of plot summary no matter what there reviewing and then like 2 pages of tech specs. atleast thats the way it came off when I read some reviews on there (in General) Ill stick to Hentai Neko for H revies not just anme but Games and Manga.

This is true. Hentaineko is very good for hentai reviews, but I mentioned AOD because they review most of the new hentai DVDs that come out (while Hentaineko isn't as up to date).

Wow, so you've like never actually READ any of our reviews? I don't think I've ever said because a show looked bad that the content sucked. The two things aren't tied to each other in any way.

And for the record, it's a $2K TV, $300 sound setup and $120 monster cable, which is only so expensive because at the time DVI cables weren't cheap. The 1K DVD player is actually only $150. :)

AnimeonDVD's reviews are usually pretty darn good to me.
Except for Chris' insepid distaste for Slayers, I've never disagreed with a single review.
(Though, I do have some issues with the forums.. where once I was complaining about RightStuf's insanely high prices on non-special based items, and I got my topic removed, and lost "points" or whatever it was.. that right there seemed to be pandering to the advertiser.. which they do in general seem to do for rightstuf)
Anywho..
Very rarely (I really can't think of any time) have I seen technical quality of something overthrow the scoring of the content.

When I want a review for an anime DVD, it's always the first place I turn to.

I agree that the layout for the new site is rather poor if not amateurish looking. I also find it amusing that the release is supposedly made in Washington DC. Not the best place to draw attention to yourself, for more reasons than I care to state here.

I enjoy the AoD hentai reviews, and find them informative. a lot of new hentai releases come out monthly, and the AoD owner seems to be able to find the time to keep up. I don't find the reviews at hentaineko particularly informative.

It would be nice if someone would tackle the faulty use of 'hentai' once and for all, but unfortunately, it's not Miss Lujuria. I shiver slightly at the thought of the 'foreigner friendly' sign I saw at the K-books in Den-Den Machi, Osaka... Rolling Eyes

Unfortunately, common usage trumps accuracy. Just like otaku has a negative connotation in Japan, but is a badge of honor in the US.

I'm curious... what was that 'foreigner friendly' sign?

In any case, while the use of 'hentai' to describe all japanese animated porn is a little inaccurate, the majority of that porn *is* indeed pretty sick and twisted (at least by western standards) and therefore *does* deserve the title hentai. Because those perverted titles represent the majority of ecchi anime and because of their sensationalistic nature, people tend to associate anime porn with the hard-core 'hentai' titles rather than the soft-core 'ecchi' titles.
