I don't think anyone's attempted to make a new transfer of a show this long before. Movies and OVAs are no brainers for remastering, and the longest other show that comes to mind is Yu Yu Hakusho. Legend of the Galactic Heroes, of similar length to YYH, wasn't a new transfer for the BluRay, but instead an upscale of the DVD masters. Most longer TV shows to get full BD treatment are usually 50 episodes, like Zeta Gundam, ZZ, Patlabor, or Card Captor Sakura at 70 episodes; so near 300 episodes of material is a really ambitious effort. We are starting to see tons more normal length shows come out as well: Tylor, Escaflowne, Nadia; but they're all fractions of the length of a long running shounen fighting series. Maybe they should have put this off until after the Dragon Boxes became old hat?

No loss. The market is already flooded with like 10 different types of Dragonball related releases as is. It's not like we needed more.

I still haven't bought any dragon boxes because they haven't released dragonball dragon boxes yet

I'd rather they do this for Dragonball instead.

Joke's on you, then, because the DBZ Dragon Boxes are out of print now.

It must have been a ton of work to do the amount of restoring they've already done so far, and with the kind of profit that anime distributors make in America, I would've probably called it quits eventually too. I just wish they didn't hype it up so much online just to end up like this, oh well. Hopefully, Japan will do the Blu-ray versions for us like they did with Yu Yu Hakusho. I don't mind waiting for that.

Although I'm happy with my collection, I hope they release them again for the sake of others. Or at least in a thin-pack collection that isn't as fancy.

Guess the sales weren't over 9000, were they?

Joking aside, I love Dragon Ball Z and it's one of my favorite Shonen shows of all times. I can't get enough of that show and I have seen the DBZ Blu-ray DVD's and they were pretty nice.

And this is why I don't plan on buying DBZ anytime in the near future. I think I'll save that money for when Viz releases Tiger and Bunny.

Congratulations, Blu-Ray buyers! You now know exactly how the devoted fans felt after the Ultimate Uncuts got canceled!

Interesting prices of those OoP boxes. I can see it now, in the near future: "OMG! IT'S OVER $9000!"

Yeah, you thought of it. You know you did. Don't play that game.

As for the news, I'm rather indifferent to it only because the product never interested me.
