Hayato Date's profile pic is incorrect, even though it's so widespread. The picture actually belongs to some professor named Hayato Yamana. http://www.waseda.jp/rps/webzine/back_number/vol017/vol017.html (Japanese)

I would imagine it's hard to make the leap from Computer Science professor to anime director. In any case, please hide the picture so I can submit the only picture of him that I could find thanks to Atsuko Tanaka's blog. I've done so. The contributor of this picture should have looked closely at the source before adding it. Even if he or she didn't know Japanese, the name was romanized there and thus should have known it was wrong just from that. |
