Wait. A grown man was arrested for posting nudes on his blog? What the fudge?
It's not indecent exposure, because I'm pretty sure indecent exposure laws apply to, you know, real life only. |

The police obviously have nothing better to do
via 2chan http://4-suug.blog.so-net.ne.jp/ The pics that probably got him in trouble: pic1 and pic2 (i guess a nsfw is required...) lol |

Well, Japan's censorship laws are stricter than those in the US, so it would be easier to get in trouble posting pictures of yourself online.
Regardless of all that however, between $450,000 and $560,000 on those tatoos?! You could buy a house with that kind of money. I wouldn't have thought that a voice actor would get paid enough money to spend that much on tattoos. Not that I'd want any tatoos (let alone enough to cover pretty much my whole body), but I'd sure love to have enough money to be able to waste it like that. |

When celebrities get involved in scandals in Japan, companies and the like usually don't wanna be associated with them, don't they? Chances are, he won't be voicing this One Piece character anymore.

Japan has much stricter laws about nudity than America. I mean their are places where you can just whip it out here, but in Japan you can not show nude photos of yourself. Obviously those pictures are what got him arrested. |

You've added an extra zero there it was €45,000-56,000 which isn't all that bad. One thing to keep in mind is that theres still a pretty strong stigma in Japan against tatoo's as they're strongly accosicated with Yukuza and other gangs. My friends father was there in 2002 for the world cup and kept getting strange looks and shunned when we wore short sleeves as his arms are fully tattooed. When he wore long sleeves no one even noticed him. |

Japan's so weird. They're always portrayed to have things like hot springs and saunas, but when someone shows a non-pornographic image of their body on their private blog, they go apeshit.
Also, those tattoos are AWESOME. I would never get a tattoo and I usually think they look tacky, but that one is really well done. |

Wow, he'll never be able to go to an onsen... (Most do not allow people with tattoos.)

As someone with several tattoos I'm perplexed by this statement. What exactly constitutes a "tacky" tattoo? |

So Japan, you'll allow women's underwear to be sold in vending machines, extreme bullying in your schools, and loli/shota manga in the market but a nude artistic photo gets a man arrested?
Sure it was preferable he not show us ALL of that but it is far from worthy of an arrest. |

That's strange. I know that Japan has strange censorship laws when it comes to this sort of thing but I thought that only applied to naked genitalia. Boobs, anus, etc. are all allowed except for penis and vagina. Or at least that's what Japanese porn has taught me. lol
Some people just think they're ugly. I also think they're tacky and I personally think they make a person look dirty. But that's just my taste. And in some cases I don't think they're too bad. |

Avoiding the topic of Japanese law, because that could be a long and boring conversation, I want to point out that this Ink of his is fantastic.
That is some of the best work I have ever seen (my uncle owns a Tattoo shop, so I have seen some stuff in my days). Personally, I don't find the tattoo of his back offensive at all, the others have appropriate censorship, although I am unsure if that was added after it was originally posted, but I don't find those offensive either. This man is showing off art, and he has been censored, thats all I am taking from this story. |
