"Best Wishes!" and no Ash in the silhouette. I'm sure he'll be in the series somewhere, but I guess it's true he's no longer the main character.

I didn't even bother to pay attention to the B & W comparison, but they certainly could have thought of something better. If that were the case there would have been no reason to call the anime version of Diamond and Pearl "Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl". |

I'll believe Ash isn't the main character, five episodes into the new show. The original promo poster for DP originally showed only Dawn, and then Ash, Dawn and Shinji instead of Brock. I assume it'll be the same here.

"Best Wishes" sounds from the title like it could be the last Pokemon series. With over a thousand episodes they really don't need any more. Someone who was only 8 who started watching this show when it first began would be about 20 by now. Even an 8 year old today will likely be in their teens by the time they watch every episode.
And I doubt they would try to continue the series without Ash. Pokemon Chronicles was an example of that and it didn't do as well. |

It's a completely different character, actually.
Also seriously doubting that this is going to be the last Pokemon generation. They're still making loads of money off of this gig (movies still hit the top or near the top of the box offices, and games still make #1 bestsellers), and as long as that's happening, there's no reason to stop. Consider other kids' anime as well-- Doraemon has over 2000 episodes, and even something more contemporary like Detective Conan has nearly 600 (Pokemon has nearly 700). It's the same reason we will have other "old" Nintendo properties around. Also, no one watches every episode of Pokemon. The millions of little kids who still love it now may only be familiar with Diamond and Pearl. |

I seriously think the person on the poster is just another rival of Ash. It would be nice if they actually just brought in older characters as supporting characters... But they don't care about the old audience, their just going to make more episodes for just kids with no real depth... I'm actually surprised why they are making new series??? They could just re-air the old series and all the kids wouldn't know if its new or not... lol And whats the game going to be? Best Black and Wishy White???? lol

They didn't call the Advanced Generation series, "Ruby and Sapphire" so it isn't too far fetched for them to go back to using non game titles.
The Japanese spelling of Best Wishes! is interesting. It can be interpreted as "Best Isshu" and along with the first letter of each word, you got a nice throwback to the Black and White games. |

Hi, I'm Aaron and I've seen every Pokemon episode (a lot of them 3-4 times). I'm one of those who started when I was 8 and am now 20. For the curious, theres a picture running around that may or may not be official art and shows Ash's new duds, the new girl, Team Rocket, some new Pokes, and an old guy. Now, this is unconfirmed, but that art was released before the news about Best Wishes and the girl matches up. |
