The future of tomorrow today on ANN! I'm interested in seeing the new 'causal newsfeed' content. From the description it sounds like it will be fun to read. I don't root around the internets for Japan blogs so seeing some of the lighter side articles will be interesting. Looking forward to the changes.
Even if I don't like it I'll still be here. Because as Richard Gere once said, "I've got nowhere else to go".

I'm looking forward to see all the new features. I'm actually glad to hear that all of the changes will take place over the next 2 years so as not to be too jarring.

Just how "casual" are we talking? ANN isn't going to become Sankaku Complex, will it?

I think if it did (minus the porn) then it would be fantastic. There are tons of funny and interesting stories that go up there, but I can't link them to friends because that site is covered in hentai and smut.
The way the rest of the letter sounds makes me think, "Cue subscription fees in 3, 2, 1..."

No.
And no we won't be asking for subscription fees beyond the system that's already in place.

Is what Gia did over at Anime Vice the type of "casual" reporting you guys are aiming towards? because I really did enjoy that. Ever since she left, there's been a drop in those fun little stories and I find myself going there less.

Casual? Hmm.. I'm not so sure if that would be an improvement. I'd rather see more/better reviews.
As for the videos, here's hoping that the world outside N-America will be recognized as a place where actual people live who enjoy anime.

The casual news feed sounds like it's going to be really fun! I'm really looking forward to the changes.
I'm glad that the video is going to be promoted a bit more too since I often forget about it's existence.

Sounds like now is a time for subscribing, if there ever was one. To help out the new content I'll give it some serious thought. I owe you guys for delivering me fantastic content for free, and since I've been taking a lot more in the last 6 months than I have ever before there seems to be no better time than the present! Bring on the changes, I look forward to seeing the site get better and better.
Be good to hear Christopher on the ANNcast too!
Edit: subscriber ahoy!

I'll be very interested to hear what the new changes will be. I was happy with ANN before, so all this new stuff is just icing on the cake for me.

May I ask for a request, then? Can you please add a $50 option to the list. I know I can contribute more, but I really don't want to extend my subscription terms so I can be reminded to do so every year.
I'd appreciate it.

I'm glad to see AnimeNN extending its appeal. I am more inclined towards interesting articles about the industry and reviews than I am otaku news. However, if ANN can do like Anime Vice and sort of mix professional analysis with otaku culture and create interesting articles then that ain't bad either.
Why two years though? Seems like a very slow pace for something like this. Is the entire plan already laid out?
I hope there is no animosity directed at Gia for being here and not Vice. There are a lot of people on the internet who are into that sort of stuff.

I was worried it was going to take 24 four months, which would be eight years, but it appears that rather than being a clever way to disguise the fact that it would take eight years ... it was just an edit-o.
