I went to tvtome.com and they said that they're showing a new yu-gi-oh manga in Japan. Not yu-gi-oh R but something called "Yu-gi-oh Genex" or "Yu-gi-oh the Next Generation". Now this is coming from tvtome.com so chances are it may be just a rumor.

Well, I clicked on the more info button at the bottom of that snippet and got this:

New series of Yugioh anime will start in October

Weekly Shonen Jump announced a coming new anime series.
According to the anime topic articles in the 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (available on July 17), a renewed series of Yugioh will start on October 6, 2004.
The working title is 「遊☆戯☆王　ＤＭ　ジェネックス」"Yugioh Duel Monsters Genex (or Genecs)"
The drawing in the tankoubon mentioned below is the characters Takahashi sensei designed for the new series.
The new hero is 遊戯十代 "Yugi Juudai (or Judai)" and the story will revolve around a duelist training school.

So Memories is the last of the actual "Yugioh" series, right? Then they're making a manga prequel to the Memories Arc called Yu-Gi-Oh R.

This anime (with no manga counterpart) is a completely different YuGiOh with a character named Yugi, but he's not related to the Yugi in the first YGO. Will the madness never end...

Like it did with Gundam? Or Macross?

It can either work out just like the gundam series or flop like the 3rd and 4rth seasons of Digimon.

Sounds interesting. Still waiting on the Uncut DVDs from FUNimation in October though.

The titles of the first one is supposed to be "The Shadow Games" and "the Insector combo". I hope they use the voices from the current dub. That's the only thing I liked about the 4kids Yu-gi-oh dub.
