Do you have any source to back up that "孝司" is to be read "Takashi"? 川口 孝司 is the kanji contributed to this person (and it is backed up by the livedoor wiki URLs) but with no source for its reading, so even the creation of this person entry could already have been a kanji reading error. (The animator is fine, even with his own Wikipedia page which is quite unusual for a mere key animator.) ANN has four persons with this name of which one is "Takashi" (the one you're about to split!) but all three others are "Kouji"; EDICT allows four readings for 孝司 (Koushi (g), Kouji (m), Takashi (m), Takaji (g)). So why would "Takashi" be your preferred choice for the producer? (I made a wrong split request myself before because of not checking the plausibility of the reading for the person to be split off...) In fact ANN already has an animator named Kouji KAWAGUCHI (川口 幸治, for which ANN has five "Kouji" and two "Yukiharu" and EDICT allows four readings including these two) but this doesn't rule out 川口 孝司 to be another Kouji KAWAGUCHI (which would then result in a split request for this name). |

You're right, I hadn't checked out other readings of the same kanji that are already within the database. I'll make sure to check that out as well in the future.
The best source I got for reading 孝司 as Takashi are my Pokemon VHS tapes (lol). I know R1 companies aren't the best at crediting people, but I'd think that they would at least get the executive producer's name right if they had that many opportunities to translate it (TV series and the plethora of movies and specials he's credited for). |

If he's so famous then a Google search for "川口孝司" and "かわぐち" might do the trick... and in fact:
