Oh, wow! I adore the Japanese live-action drama, so I wonder how they are going to handle the story in a movie.
I'm glad that Geun-seok is in this. I really enjoyed his role in "You're Beautiful". He's a great actor and adorable to boot. I'm really looking forward to this. =) |

Hell yes. Kimi wa Pet is one of my favorite J Drama's, and I'm looking forward to seeing what a new adaptation will make of it.

I love Korean cinema. The quality tends to always be crisp and wonderful. The cinematography, and coloring, the editing...yes, yes, and yes.
Kimi Wa Pet is my favorite manga series and favorite jdrama, so I can't wait to see the Korean version! - Rachel |

I love the manga. Lately there are few titles I am willing to follow beyond volume 5, this one of them. I really the adaptation captures the magic of the original manga.

I hope they do as great a job with this as was done with the Antique Bakery movie adaptation (though unlike Antique's J-drama, Kimi wa Petto's drama was pretty good-- I had such a crush on MatsuJun after that & Gokusen). Not sure about the actor for Momo, though-- I saw Baby & Me and was not impressed. Though maybe I was biased because that film was nothing like the manga (which I enjoyed in Shojo Beat) so I was unhappy about that. I'm curious to know who the actress will be.
Edit: Now on 2011.01.01 (btw, Happy New Year, anyone who actually finds this old thread!) I'm a little over halfway through Jang Geun Suk's current drama (Marry Me Mary) and have found myself quite enchanted by him. I don't quite know what happened but I suddenly started to see the appeal he has for his fans. A total 180 on my end. So I'm actually really anticipating his take on Momo now. |

For anyone else who's still intensely interested in this (is it just you & me, soundofsilence?) here's a few links to an article/pics and a press conference video of Jang Geun Seok & his new leading lady together. I'm really happy with the casting for Sumire. She was great in both My Tutor Friend and Almost Love so she's obviously got the chops to lead a romantic comedy. And JGS is... well, let's just say if I found him on my doorstep I'd take him in in a heartbeat (of course the same goes for MatsuJun's earlier take on the same character).
P.S. Sorry if we're necroposting. Are we? |
