Wow, now this is a big surprise. So I wonder when there will be new episodes this year?
I really hope Bleach isn't dropped from AS though. I've been watching the series since it first premiered in America and have enjoyed almost every episode.
Plus, in my opinion, its one of the very, very few shows that isn't violent for absolutely no reason (such as Squid billies) and doesn't have constant offensive language like the Boondocks.

Their online schedule has shown that for at least two weeks now (I'm pretty sure it was like that even before the most recent schedule revision). I never saw the bump on TV, so I didn't know they had promised new Bleach in April at some point. Oh well...

Maybe now they'll start putting anime that isn't meant for little kids. How bout Black Lagoon for starters.

Why Black Lagoon? It's two years older than the Bleach [as] is showing already, only 36 episodes for both seasons, and most people interested in it have probably already seen it?
Not that its a bad choice, but something a little newer along the lines of FMA S2 would grab way more attention, better ratings and all that stuff.

as adult swim has shown with their schedule in the past, it can be updated at a moments notice. So new Bleach may not show up now but it could easily be added back.

This whole thing realy doesn't surprise me one bit. Their show schedule has been like this for years.

Isn't it going to be just another filler arc anyway?
That seems to be all I ever hear about Bleach anyway.

The vulgar swearing is going to bring a problem with the network, and bleeping those out will just make it awkward.

Actually, I think airing Black Lagoon would be a great choice for Adult Swim (I WISH it had 36 eppies, sadly there are only 26). Would the foul language be a problem at that time period (after midnight)? The reason I think it is a good choice is that I think it is a great "gateway" property that could potentially get current non-anime types to check out other titles.

Yes. The next 20-something episodes will be part of a filler arc that, unlike the Bount arc, doesn't fit into the timeline of the series. Anyone wanting to see the aftermath of Ichigo vs. Grimmjow in episode 167 will still have to wait a while once the new episodes start airing.

Black Lagoon would never work on Adult Swim.
Unlike Comedy Central AS does NOT air things uncensored after midnight the stuff would still be bleeped. It's just the nature of the channel. That being the case Black Lagoon would never get aired. There are also a few scenes of violence in the 2nd season of Black Lagoon that I am reasonably sure would have to be edited regardless of the time it aired(namely with the twins).
My guess as to why Bleach isn't gonna air in April is that Viz was not able to get the next 2 seasons dubbed in time and AS wants to run 2 seasons back to back like they did before. It got them really good ratings so they probably decided to hold off instead of just airing what was ready. I would guess we will see Bleach come back after summer.
They didn't drop it. It's one of their best rated anime and they would not be showing it still if it was dropped and they are gonna continue airing repeats for the time being.
EDIT: Checking the AS Bleach boards it says that new episodes will return later in the year so the show is not dropped.

That's so bizarre. I don't doubt your information at all, but you would think that a block of programming called "Adult Swim" airing between midnight and 5. a.m. would not need to be censored.

I guess I'm the only one who thought Black Lagoon was terrible, or at the very least not as awesome as everyone else seem to think.

@Blood-
The whole adult swim name came from the fact that the channel itself was called Catoon Network and was obviously for kids.
The adult swim block simply ran animation aimed at a older audience but was never intended to air things uncensored. On top of the fact that the Adult swim block is growing and next year will start as early as 10pm.
I would argue the stuff airs that late only because that block does. Sci Fi airs some pretty violent and vulgar stuff in their Ani Monday block and it's a hour earlier.
