So wait, I'm confused. Since it was reported in a Canadian magazine, does that mean it's a US or Canadian live-action film? Or was it just reported because of the genre, and it'll be a Japanese live-action film (since it is involving the producer of BioHazard).

Either way, could be cool if done right I guess. Though I've yet to see Bloodlust even.

More anime is fine by me as Kikuchi already eluded to that back in "Mysterious Journey to the North Sea" though I wonder if it'd be more films or an actual series? As for the live action, I have NO clue how that would work. Good luck finding a guy pretty enough to play D

Can't say I'd care much for a live-action adaption.
Someone said it already; too many vampire flicks of late as it is.
However, more anime, be it another film or a TV series is a big thumbs up from me.

Except most if not all of them are sucky if I remember correctly, and a well done live-action version of "D" would be decidedly non-sucky.

And if Kikuchi himself is helping work on it then it should have at least a really interesting story.

Also, I wonder if Urban Vision has anything to do with these new "D" works, since they were the most recent company to release the previous "D" animes on DVD... The company is still around, you know. In fact, that would probably make for an interesting ANNCast: Talking with Urban Vision and what they're doing right now.

Unless it's a 100% Japanese production. Not to be too snide, but live action adaptations have been really hit or miss, and it would need a really big budget to look anything other than cheesy.

New anime would be cool though, especially if they're adapting "Journey to the North Sea," his best work by far.

I'd love to see a movie based on Tale of the Dead Town, or The Rose Princess.

There's a damn new romance/comedy movie coming out every week, yet I see nobody complaining about that. I dislike romance as much as you dislike vampire movies, multiplied by 50.

Live-action Vampire Hunter D, huh? Well, lets hope it's not a pure Hollywood production which would suck and screw up the image of the original work. I think someone who can do a good adaptation would be Quentin Tarantino. Or maybe in the style of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings but then in a much darker atmosphere.

I'd welcome a good vampire film. It's been a while since a good one has come out.
