Newtype USA Magazine has a bunch of top ten style lists of what's hot in Japan. The only thing is, they're usually at least a month dated, as the transition into English occurs, but they're still interesting. I can't help you with the latest however, as the last Newtype I bought was in April.

That's the top 20 most popular among readers of Newtype, not based on viewing or anything else, a couple of months ago Bebop and Eva were on there. As for Newtype's TV ratings index, the newest one in the July issue is from March, and it lists Detective Conan (13.8%), One piece (11.9%), Inu Yasha (10.6%) as the top 3 watched anime on TV. FMA was at 7.5% and Naruto was at 8%. Keep in mind these are old ratings, and they were conducted by a polling company. J!-ENT lists the most popular from the same report that is used in Newtype. It currently lists the most popular from June 14-June 20. (It is towards the bottom of the page. The actual report can be found Here but I haven't been able to find a translation yet, still looking. Oh yeah, and these figures are for broadcast TV, so there aren't any figures for pay tv, and of course OAV etc.. |
