Well I sort of suspected that the speaker was spoiler[Lelouch,] but hint #2 sort of kills that notion; spoiler[he changed his surname for another reason.]
I know I've heard it before, but now I'm sort of lost in the wilderness. I hope it lasts to a third hint so I can jog my memory. |

The quote clearly indicates more than one addressee. The first hint clearly says that the quote has one addressee. Is it a contradiction, or is there some kind of hive mind or combination going on here?

Hint 03: spoiler[Concerning BES Null Core's question. Character A may have in mind more people, but only character B heard these words. Character B replies to these words "you're joking" possibly because he is in debt to character A, who saved character B's best friend in the past. To shed more light on the second hint. Character A was offered to change his surname, he gladly accepted this proposal because of his hatred to his father.]

I know the anime, but I'm having trouble identifying the characters... either way, I can't guess again. Should have waited, indeed. By the way, I just finished doing the score, and Key is currently leading with 4 points; twice as much as the second place(s). I'll post it tomorrow, after a double check.

This clue should make it easy
Hint 04; spoiler[Character A hates his father because his father sold character A’s sister. Character A was too young to do anything, but he said that if he had been older at that time, he would have escaped with his sister to country X, funnily enough, when he becomes the ruler of his country he conquers country X. Character B’s best friend and his wife take care of character B’s child, the reasons are the death of character B and the fact they cannot have their own children. ] --edit-- Thanks Key, I corrected spelling. Er, Aylinn, you have some (what I presume are) typos in that last hint which might mislead people.
Although this sounds very vaguely familiar, I just can't place it.

Oh well, I thought my last hint was so general that it would make it easy.
To those who are interested, the quote is from spoiler[Legend of the Galactic Heroes: the speaker is Reinhard, he says these words in episode 26 while instructing Reuenthal what to do with Lichtenlade's family.] |

Naughty naughty. [waggles finger] No wonder I got Lelouch vibes if it was Reinhard speaking. And yet, it never crossed my mind that Reinhard had said it, because there was just no way that it could be from Legend of the Galactic Heroes. No way man. That's just crazy talk man to suggest somethin' like that. |

It's funny. If I didn't already know that BES Null Core is very familiar with the rules, I could swear that his current quote comes from . . . you guessed it, Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It just seems like something the narrator would say at the start of an episode, dontcha think?

Next up... from the subtitles. And to keep the playing field level: the speaker uses the very feminine first person pronoun atashi.
