I'm sure when the DVD gets released in October, the Edit List on Rave Master will be up.

We've been asked a few times not to discuss edits.

It's POTENTIAL edits that shouldn't be discussed. If the edits have already been made, it makes no difference.

No, we were told that discussing current edits could impact future edits. Saying that we were suprised something was left in could mean to them that it needs to be taken out in a future episode.

Hi, got a quick question about edits.

Ok, I’ve seen this topic pop up a few times, about not discussing Edits (recent .hack//dusk). Whether they are hypothetical, theoretical edit discussion and edits that have been done. Though I've not seen Ravemaster, I'm always curious about edits and find edit discussion super FUN!

But who has made the request on the board to not discuss edits to a show. What is a Moderator, was it a group of older, elder, concerned members, or has it become (been incorporated into) an unwritten rule of the forums that have resulted from what has happened before with the discussion of edits.

I know that because of talk on many a message board at some point; Cartoon Network has taken action to correct some previous "Missed" edits and probably influenced future edits and what not.

Also who's releasing Ravemaster? Who's the company? Ravemaster may end up being one of those DVD released that are edited like Yu Gi Oh or Zoids. (PS I can easily just look up who releasing it but I'm a very lazy man)

Both now.

Anyway, yeah it's only potential edits that are taboo, as saying something "should have" been cut will mean the second time that show goes through, those edits people "wanted" to see have a greater chance of actually happening. Edits that actually happen are open to discussion, as Cartoon Network's shown in the past that they can't undo edits that were made, only add new ones.

Why would anyone say something should be cut? I think we should be glad when stuff is uncut.

The problem isn't with people saying things should be cut, it's in how a company might interpret what's being said. If someone was to say, "Wow, I can't believe they left in that part with the kid with a gun!" the person saying it may mean it as being great, but a rep could just as easily see that as having been a comment on something that should have left out.

Heed the quotation marks.

Okay, let me use Gundam SEED episode nine as an example. The shower scene was left intact, causing people to post on ANN and elsewhere about how they're surprised it's there and "knowing CN, it should've been cut since they don't show that sort of thing." Hypothetically, a CN exec read this, and the split-second panty shot in episode ten was cut out because fans said that content "should have been" edited last week.

Not saying fans WANT that to happen, but when they go on about edits that "should have happened" by "CN standards," then those edits tend to actually happen later on in said show. You get it now?

Which is why I say we shouldn't talk about current edits any more than edits that haven't happened yet.

No... its why we shouldnt talk about things that SHOULD have, WOULD have, or COULD have, been edits. Current edits are FINE. F. I. N. E. Shoulda Coulda Woulda don't count as current. Like its OK to list edits. Just don't list NON edits.

Edit: And on a COMPLETLY unrelated note Emerje, your avy is da bomb! I wonder How you get the other letters to look like they where part of the tattoo and not just slapped on.

OK, you're catching me on wording here. Yeah, talking about edits that did happen probably wont do any damage, heck ANN has an edit list archive. When I say "current edits" I mean edits that did AND didn't happen as apposed to edits that should and shouldn't have happened. I guess I'm the only one that's thinking that way, I'll try harder to go the way everyone else is.

(as for the avatar, I didn't make it, I explaine it in the Avatar topic though)
