My condolences goes to his friends and family. I was actually considering buying Stigma sometime soon.

Wow. The guy dies and all it seems everyone cares about is that Kaze no Stigma remains incomplete. That shouldn't even be linked with this news it should be a separate. And He died a little less than a month ago an the news just now got out?.

How old was he?
There's no background information on him anywhere, this article should contain more..

Very nice to see you show your condolences. /sarcasm
It's proper to be linked together since the author is the creator of the series, so if it remains incomplete due to his death it is a perfect link. And often times news like this doesn't get out for awhile for many reasons, so a month-delay in us getting this news is not uncommon.
Anyway, it's sad that he had passed away. Hopefully his family and friends are getting through the tough times all right.

I think it's proper to link the person to their work. This is after all, what most people will remember them for..and if was in their position I'd be HAPPY to be remembered for my creation. I never saw Kaze no Stigma but it always sounded interesting, a shame Takahiro didn't get a chance to finish it but I'm sure a lot of people were entertained by it and that's usually what the goal is. I'm curious as to how the death occurred and the age.

it's so sad, it's been a bad year for manga/anime writers passing on. I wonder if he was sick or something.

Mario1234567 quotes:

ANN gets lots of news each day and the staff has to verify it and figure when the news gets reported. I do also wonder the man's age and cause of death.

The original article stated that he passed away from illness.

That is too bad. Condolences to his family. Seems like a lot of Japanese creators have been passing away this year.

Wow, man, this is so sad... another brilliant author gone... I loved Kaze no Stigma - its such a shame that it will never be completed. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed and remembered by many.

As I understand it he's been too ill to write for 3 or 4 years.
And today I weep for a man I never met and who never heard my name.

Same here. It's always a tragedy when someone dies before they reach a ripe old age. Even more so when something of theirs is left unfinished.
