To the moderators of animenewsnetwork. I like the news info
very much, and I want to put it on my website in support for animenewsnetwork. I would like to know if when we would be able to have a anime newfeed in our website. It would be great because more information will be spread out to inform the fans about anime. I encourage all members of the forum if you have an anime website to support this project if becomes available. ANN rules! |

I think, therefore I am. Honestly though, it's something we (or at elast I've) wanted to do for a while. There area few websites that we gave permission to make their own scripts under certain circumstances (I've shown you these) but I'd like to make a proper ANN script with a number of options. Shall we discuss the details in private? In the meantime, Kazuki and anyone else interested can post their thoughts on what kind of functionality they would like from this. |

Just need wget, awk, sed, and grep to get the job done. Maybe a lil' cut and paste, too.
That is, given permission. The simplest way to 'allow' people to rip your news would be to allow access in plain text, which might be hard with whatever database setup you have now (since getting it to remove the autolinking seems like it'd be a bit of a chore), but in the end would allow the most customization to the other web.. person. |

Thanks a lot for the replies, I like the newsfeed to be
fully customable (since it is only plain text).Ex. You can have your news in your main page that displays the headlines only or headlines with details below like ANN, clicking the links will give the full details of the news. also you have the option of how many headlines to be put in your site. Something like: Headlines #1 Headlines #2 Headlines #3 Headlines #4 Headlines #5 more... or Headlines #1 Details... Headlines #2 Details... Headlines #3 Details... Headlines #4 Details... Headlines #5 Details... more.. Clicking "more" will bring you to the older news posts that is also displayed in your site still. The functionality also I would like to have is the details of the headlines will be displayed in my own website which of course changes its info is automatically updated from your database. My idea seems far-fetched , but is it possible and what do you think? Any suggestions and ideas? |

Well, you gotta remember that our justification in providing a free newsfeed would be to bring people to ANN. So only a part of the article would be available to post on your website, and the link would be to the full article on ANN. -t |

We are currently beta testing the newsfeed. I've sent you a copy of the details you need to know to set up an account. We should be making it public in February. |
