Besides cosplay, have any of you applied their creativity to anime-based projects? I've started working on a yaoi-themed logic puzzle, and I should have it done within a week or so.
I also plan to bleed on a Goban with legs to replicate the board featured in the Hikago anime and manga.

Back when I had the time, I used to create wallpapers of my favorite anime. Since my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator were below average, I would usually have them made for personal use, and not have the embarrassment of letting other people use my cheesy work on their desktops, lol.
That's pretty much it, really.

As wierd as it sounds I was thinking of taking of one the random scrapbooks I have laying around and making pages based on some of my favorite shows with pictures and a synopsis of the show so if people were curious they could read it. Yay fun time summer projects!

AMVs and video reviews, that's for sure. Animation footage is a lot of fun to edit. Heck, live action is boring by comparison. Not that it isn't nice to work on a good live action project, but you can puppetmaster animation to do almost anything you want, which is why AMVs are such popular hobbies in the fandom, I guess.

Trying to balance out time is tough, but I've been slowly working on teaching people how to use Adobe Fireworks to create anime characters through my website.
The project has temporarily stalled due to lack of time right now, but I'm hoping to get back to it soon. I projected Summer to be a good time, but now it's looking like Spring 2010. I'll put up bits and pieces until then.
Why Fireworks? It's MUCH cheaper than Photoshop, offers just enough to get started, it's web friendly, and (IMO) easier to use. My avatar was created with it.
Ugh. So much to do. So little time to do it. And yes, watching anime comes first.

I work in a craft store- awhile back we demo'd crayola Model Magic (it's a neat kind of modeling clay/paper mache hybrid), and I had a lil' lump of white leftover from the event to play with. So, I did the sensible thing- I made a Mokona. Still have it, actually, it came out surprisingly well for an in-between-customers project.
Aside from that, most of my creative juices get appiled to displays for anime stuff instead of making it- y'know, like frames for art prints or the scrapbooks I keep my pencilboards in. I used to draw some fanart back in High school, but I haven't done that in awhile.

There's got to be a safer/more sanitary way for you to do that. Have you considered cranberry juice or teabags or something?

This may be a bit controverial, but I used to write decent fanfics, that were no more than 10 chapters long (they were personal, can't be found anywhere on the internet) I also would draw fanart,(also personal) but I haven't done neither in awhile. Lately I have been making collages (I don't know if I spelled that right) and thinking of doing something else creative if I have the time.

I've mentioned this here before, but in my Desktop Publishing class last fall, we were given the assignment of creating a DVD set that included a front and back cover, the DVD itself, and the insert. The professor had come up with some layouts for us to use, so all we had to do was customize it. It did not matter if we used something that was copyrighted, since it wouldn't leave the classroom.
I put together a set for the first season of Chi's Sweet Home, because I desperately want to see that series. I didn't get a very high grade on it, but I was still very pleased with the way they turned out.
I also created a poster for the university anime club, which I was in charge of. I think I got a pretty good grade on that.

I wouldn't have gotten interested in web development if it weren't for anime. A friend of mine in the fifth grade had created her own Evangelion Web site, and I thought that it was a really cool and unique way to express your enthusiasm for something. I was never very good at the designing aspect of creating Web sites even though I pretended to be until recently, but I really loved playing with code and figuring out how things worked. I had so many Web sites back in the day depending on what my latest obsession was; Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, and Yu-Gi-Oh! are the series I really remember making Web sites for. My Yu-Gi-Oh! site was my favorite even though it wasn't very popular, and I loved working on it the most.
I'm now an International Studies/Management Information Systems major and my MIS degree has a concentration on Internet technologies.

I don't know if it counts for much... But when I was in college, I used to make up anime collages, print them out, and put them on my binders. I remember I had one for Robotech, one for Dominion, and one for Tekkaman Blade. I think. It's been awhile. I also once made a Bonaparte out of a used up bottle of White Out (back when the bottles were completely round), some Q-Tips cut up, and some Legos. :p Sporting the New Dominion blue, grey and white color scheme (I never cared for the original all green scheme). And I once tried to paper craft some transforming fighters... That one didn't work out so well, though... ^^;;;;

Well I make graphics like banners and avitars off of screen captures from DVDs and fansubs. I also catalog all the DVDs, books, and music I have, a lot of which is anime related. Collecting Anime DVDs is also my primary hobby and I have quite the extensive library thus far.
