Well, I see there's a 'just started' thread in both anime & manga, but 'just finished' is only in anime (as far as I could see).
Soooo....last manga you finished? Smile
I just finished Aishiteruze Baby. After watching the anime (and its...um, incompleteness), I *had* to read the manga. And it was good. Not great (like Kare Kano Very Happy) but it did have a satisfying, if a bit abrupt, ending

The last manga series I finished reading was Sugar Sugar Rune. After Carlo went on about it so much in Right Turn Only I had to check it out. I didn't love it as much as I could have but it definitely is an enjoyable series.

I have a few others that I've finished all these is to read in English (Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, Nodame Cantabile, and xxxHolic), though I don't believe any of them are done their Japanese run so it will be some time before I really finish them off.

The last manga series that I finished was Hellsing. It took forever for the last volume to come out but it had a pretty satisfactory ending for what I had been waiting so long to see. In the end, even after all that happened, it was somewhat of a happy ending.

The most recent series I finished was GTO, and having finished it I must say it was a pretty great series from beginning to end. It was a very entertaining read overall and the conclusion was all I hoped it’d be. Definitely one of my favorite series.

I finished Parasyte today, I picked up the series when it was on volume 3 I think (Dark Horse release) but I didn't like forgetting about most of the events in the volume before for each DH release, so for the finale (volume 8) I decided to read the scans after finishing my copy of the 7th volume.

Great manga, really gets you thinking and it has some pretty developed characters. The ending was good, but I think it could have been a little better. I felt like the mangaka didn't take enough risks near the end, which was disappointing considering how many there were in the series altogether. (Pretty big spoiler about the mood of the ending, but nothing specific about the plot. Don't read if you plan on trying Parasyte) spoiler[ I guess you could say the mangaka did the things I was complaining about on purpose to give the story a more optimistic ending, but it still ticked me off a little. ]

I recently finished Magic Lover's Tower, which I admit I picked up because Casey didn't like it and I almost always disagree with her. Wink It was fun, and I really liked the Taoist themes it had going. The English first names were a bit odd, but I have my suspicions that the author (and artist) were from Hong Kong, which might explain it. Their names looked more Cantonese than Mandarin, at any rate.

Edit: I of course cannot now FIND the review I mentioned, though I distinctly remember reading it...plus the press release says that the author is Taiwanese, so there goes that theory. Oh well - I still enjoyed the series!

Finished 20th Century Boys. Compared to the entire rest of the story, the ending felt rather anti-climactic. spoiler[The villain goes, "Everything's a lie; I did it." Also, there's pretty much no one left to fight besides him, as the baddies have mostly killed each other off, so that's the only showdown, aside from the UFOs, which were kind of just snuck in there.]

Last series I finished reading (which was a long time ago now) was Ceres: Celestial Legend, since a friend in high school had it and let me borrow the volumes. XP Sadly, I haven't really read many complete series of manga being that my library would only have sporadic volumes of series and it would get extremely annoying try to read one then have to jump one or two and be lost as I try to read them.

Finished Pluto. Thinking about the ending, I was slightly let down by a problem that was the polar opposite of what has usually bothered me with Urasawa's works: spoiler[It didn't drag on forever, but finished way too abrupt. I'd prefered a couple more chapters to sort things out for a more rounded finale. Maybe he was over-eager to start on a new series, or maybe he realized he coninued 20th C. B. for way too long and didn't want to repeat the same mistake?] Still a pretty good series though.

Also just finished reading Kanno Shosetsu, which is about a couple who work in a regular Japanese office company, but the guy writes erotic novels on the side as well. So the story goes through their relationships and the hard times that they have. Ending was okay, but I think in the end there should have been something more to it.

In terms of series I've finished, I think the last one I completed was Kuro Gane. It was pretty good overall - it had a sort of episodic format, and the characters were interesting to follow. It's about a wandering swordsman who died and was brought back as a sort of clockwork machine. It's got a somber, philosophical tone, and the artwork is rough but beautifully done. My only beef was with the first episode or so, which attempted to set up the plot and seemed kind of forced and unnecessary. If you're looking for an ending it may be disappointing too, since it kind of ends at what you'd consider a minor story arc, like it was cut half-way through production.

In terms of the last volume of a manga I've finished, that would be Sergeant Frog v. 16. ....which is hilarious! Laughing

This is just my personal opinion, but I'm under the impression that several undeniably great mangas collapse towards the end or finish in a less than satisfying manner. The series that managed to close without me getting slightly disappointed or annoyed (usually nothing serious, just me thinking "Nah, could have been done better!") can be counted on one hand.

Thus it's nice to see one of my favorite mangas dying with it's dignity intact. Bokurano just finished and it didn't F' up at the finishing line. It was a bittersweet and sad farewell, but what else was to expect from a manga about spoiler[a bunch of doomed children destroying multiple worlds, killing billions, and dying in the process.] Nothing readers familiar with Mohiro Kitoh should be unfamiliar with (compared to the end of Narutaru it's downright optimistic). Well done.

The last manga series I finished from start to end was Death Note. Last year when they came out with the boxed set, I jumped on it! As for manga that haven't ended yet, I've recently gone through 1-6 of MPD Psycho, which I recommend to ANYONE who enjoys dark, sick, and twisted manga with crisp clean art and supremely graphic violence. As for the manga with less-than-satisfying endings, it usually happens when it's not garnering enough attention in the manga-mags in Japan, so they cancel it before it can tank, or to make room for something else. Sometimes they'll continue to publish it in tankobon, other times the editors have the manga-ka scrape out a half-assed ending so they can work on something new. This is my take on the occurance anyway. Anyone else have a theory?

The last manga I finished was Berserk and oh my god do i not regret reading it. Its a freakin masterpiece. It is most likely the greatest manga out there. I doubt I will read anything that will ever be better than Berserk. So if you haven't read it then READ IT! Amazing characters that are very well developed and have amazing personalities, incredible and epic storyline, and fighting scenes that are a joy to look at and that are cool as hell. Also, it might as well be the most well drawn manga ever. READ IT!
P.S.: I'm also now reading Rurouni Kenshin. Not done yet reading it but pretty good.
