Ah you know after those previous commercials and all I was wondering when we'd finally get even the slightest hint of what the 1st OP would be and I would have to assume that indeed the music playing in this commercial is a snippet of the 1st opening theme for the FMA reboot.

Now I have to ask: Anyone have an idea what's the name of the song or at least the name of the band performing said song? Doesn't sound like any of the original four which is personally a relief to me as I was worried they might do an attempt of 'repeating history' by either having the 1st OP being once again done by Porno Graffitti or yet another L'Arc opening (I really like L'Arc~en~Ciel but I would certainly lose no sleep if they didn't do any themes for the new series. One awesome opening theme in the 1st series plus the opening AND ending themes for the movie was more than enough, thankyouverymuch)

hey thats the ending theme..its performed by SID and its titled Uso.

Like... simul-cast it around the whole world? Not everyone is from Japane or the United States, and fansub ARE useful. Wink

Who want to support the industry can buy manga, DVDs and merchandise anyway, it doesn't really make a difference, if anything fansub helps spreading popularity.

P.S. Sorry cnav, too late. Razz

Of a series that is already popular? I get the feeling that those who are asking for fansubs are looking to "keep the train rolling" so to speak in terms of them getting for free over spreading popularity.

As to Funi releasing subbed version or even the japanese studio subbed versions or simul-casting this it will deter a few but that's really how insidious fansubs have become, it's to the point of it doesn't really matter what the industry does anymore, there will be those who are still would fansub/illegally distribute a series even if: The creator asks them not to, legitimate streaming or downloading is available, a series is being simul-casted.

But still I would see it as a good thing if there were a legal subbed or simul-cast with this series.

I've made my opinions as to why fansubs are now hurting rather than helping known in other threads so I'll end it here.

I don't care how long I have to wait, I'll happily wait for the dub. Besides, I'll have plenty of time to catch up on the manga.

The more I watch these commercials, the more excited I get. x3 I just can't wait; it would be so cool if it was simulcasted all over the world with legal subtitles.

Though I can wait. I only pray that FUNi gets their hands on the series first. It just wouldn't be Fullmetal without Vic, Aaron, Travis, Caitlin and the others. Very Happy

Just 23 more days to go! All of this stuff is getting me really excited... Maybe crunchyroll might try to simlucast it since it was such a popular show previously... That would be awesome since I have an anime membership but I don't think I've seen Bone's series on there before >.<

sariachan has a point....i think I've told this many times before but ill say it again..im from india and there is no market for anime here..no merchandise available here..so all i have to do is to rely on fansubs...think about others too , fansub haters.

^ That.

And even if they simulcasted it, like they are doing with Naruto, the subtitles are not always as good as the best fansubber groups and/or they don't sub OP and ED too, and/or they cut the specials at the end of the episodes off... and many people just don't have fast enough connections to see HD streaming without frame rates problems. Sad

Also, it's thanks to fansubs that I know so many series right now, and I buy lots of manga and merchandise of anime that I wouldn't have know otherwise...
I admit that I buy few DVDs, but that's because I would rather pay for the original Japanese ones, if they added English subtitles, that the Italian ones (as I already said on other places, I would never pay for the crappy dubbing they do for the TV anime series when they arrive in Italy, EVEN if the DVDs contain the original Japanese track and subtitles... I don't want to support them, because I don't like how they work; on another end, Ghibli movies are good, or at lest decent dubbed here, and I own the Italian DVDs of almost all of them and I hope they'll release more).

P.S. Someone on the Narutofan forums said that today there should be a new FMA trailer... could that be true? Does someone have more info?

Wow this is so exciting! I'm looking forward to this.

I'm kinda surprised they classify it as "dark fantasy" - I dunno, when I think of "dark fantasy" I think of vampires and werewolves and the like. Nonetheless, very interested to see this.

Do you read the manga, tasogarenootome?

Granted there are funny parts (and even a bit of romance, here and there), most of FMA elements does fit in the dark fantasy genre.

I never got very far in the manga and I'm not exactly sure what constitutes dark fantasy, but from what I'm hearing, I'll have to check out the manga. Thanks for the reply!

Perhaps some of them, like me, aren't fans of manga in general. Or perhaps they just liked the anime story better. Or perhaps they had easy access to the anime but not the manga. It could be any number of reasons.
