You know how when you buy an artbox with an individual volume of a series, how there are those cardboard space fillers? The generally have advertising for other anime on them While the actual cardboard bricks are kind of trashy they strike me as something that an astute fan could transform into something... else. The problem being that I'm not crafty enough to think of something else. So do any of you do anything interesitng or unique or creative or, really, anything at all that doesn't involve throwing them straight in the trash can?

I can tell you about at least one good use of those spacer boxes. I use my Welcome to the NHK spacer to store DVDs 2-5, in case that elusive 6th one that I was promised gets released. Anyway, the fit is more snug than having an artbox built for 6 with only 5 DVDs in it.

Hmm, usually when I get one of those I carefully take it apart and fold it flat and then put it in my 'drawer of things I will never have any use for but can't bring myself to throw out.' It's a large drawer.

I'm looking at the one from Claymore now. It's actually pretty nice. No adds, just a summary on the skinny sides and pictures on the big sides. Nothing really comes to mind though.

HAHA, awesome. I totally have a drawer like that... only instead of a drawer it is my bedroom.

I'm in the 'fold 'em up and stash 'em somewhere' group too.

I imagine they're too flimsy to really use as-is for anything- maybe if you where handy with an excacto, you could pop some holes in 'em, wire 'em onto some Christmas lights, and make an anime paper lantern set.

I imagine they'd be best used as fodder for other projects- cut up and turned into mini-standees, decopauged onto something-or-other, scrabooked and collaged... that kinda thing. (I can't come up with anything I'd want to make them into though, so into the stash they go! Laughing )

If I like the insert I put it on display, but I am at the point not that it has to be really good to put on display because I have way too many. Otherwise the just go in the back of my over sized closet in my guest room. I really need get better at throwing things out, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Laughing Oh well.

I use the good inserts to fill up unused shelf space.
