Greetings following animes-collectors,
Can anyone please tell me the possible title to an animes TV series that ran in the early to late 80s outside of US. About a young boy's adventure in a world where most of the land and cities are under water (post world war). There was another boy who became good friends with him. I can only remember the end of the story where they try to start up a satellite in the space which it can provide power to the now backward human race. There was a big plane involve at that point and both boys jumped on that plane....just bits n part of the whole series. The drawing of the main character looked a lot like the boy in Castle in the Sky. But I am sure the anime I am looking for is not from Hayao Miyazaki. Anyone pls give me the possible title as I can only recognize from the cover of the animes. Thank you all for helping me!!

Not having seen it, I can only suspect (but not confirm) that you are remembering "Conan, Boy of the Future" which was indeed partly directed by Miyazaki and Takahata before they founded Studio Ghibli.

Come to think of it, yes. That's the one. I can still find it for sale somewhere. If it's any good, I'll go buy it. Comments anyone?
