According to a post on the Japanese Super Robot Taisen BBS, Sunrise Studios announced yesterday that the Inuyasha TV series will conclude in September and be replaced in October by Mobile Suit Gundam Seed 2. The first report on Gundam Seed 2 will appear in an unspecified Japanese anime magazine next month.

Well looks like SEED 2 will be coming and it will take the place of Inuyasha since the show is finally catching up to the manga.

So Inu Yasha is almost over eh? Finally. Well, it's having a good run, and it's been on since 2000, right?

I've only seen the first episode of SEED on Cartoon Network, but I have this feeling I'm really going to end up liking it a lot. Can't wait for a 2nd season. Smile

All things have to end sometime heh. So it when it ends it be around 170 episodes and 4 movies from my estimates. I just hope by then most of the manga was covered in the anime.

My guess is Newtype, since the first news on SEED 1 also appeared there, if memory serves.

Anyway, this makes me happy. Extremely happy. The best Gundam series since the original (in my opinion) is getting a second series...actually, this marks the first time an alternative timeline Gundam series has ever gotten a full TV sequel.

Yeah, I've only seen the first 3 eps fansubbed, but it's nice to have another robo-drama series on TV.

I have seen all the current eps of Inu yasha but the series needs to end i mean what are they trying to accomplish seems like they have so many side storys that detere them from there altimate goul.

Btw Gundam MS 08th team and MS Gundam 0083 are my personal best but Gundam Seed is pretty good to and can't wait to see the Part 2.

You've seen one episode of a 51-episode long series and you "can't wait" for a second season.

People will say anything on the internet.

I'm saying this based on my prediction of how much I think I'll like the first season. A lot of people say SEED is somewhat a copy of the original MSG.

I own and have watched the MSG movie trilogy, and if it's the same as the TV series, in addition to the rumor that SEED is like that, then I know I'll like it.

The movie trilogy left me wanting to see more UC Gundam, and my intention is to think season 2 of SEED, will create that continuity I wanted for MSG. Anime smile + sweatdrop

I'm sorry. But for a tv series, naming the sequel the same thing except with 2 in it, is really, lame. =P

It works well for games and movies, but a series, ehhhh.

Hope that name isn't final Anime cry

But Inu Yasha, well, it lived a good life. I think the story was ment to end though. But hey.....

Whatever. Never mind. =/

It might be lame in yoru opinion, but its pretty much how Japan has been doing things since the forties, both with live action and with anime.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm somewhat uncultured. But of all the series I've seen, I can't remember any with such a plain sequel name as 2. Maybe I'm wrong, but a lot of the series usually either just continue from where they left off along time ago with the same name, just calling it the second season; or they just change the name with a new prefix or something.

Games and movies as I said, are a different matter. I've seen a lot of those and such. For some reason, they don't make me twitch as much as if a series was named something like that.

Whatever =P. I'm thinking too hard about this.

It's not that close to the original. It's more like "vaguely similar cast goes to vaguely similar locales for about fifteen episodes while some noticeably different stuff happens." Enough to give fans of the original a strong feeling of deja vu, but not quite enough to say it's "exactly like it" or "a complete ripoff"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Gundam SEED 2" a working title or fan-given name? I mean, I don't think such base details as the proper title have been released to the public yet, given how the second series' existence was supposed to be kept secret up to this point.

you mean a suffix? Like with:
Ai Yori Aoshi (~enishi~)
Love Hina (Again)
UFO Princess Warukyure (December Nocturne) - odd that this part isn't listed in the Encyclopedia
3x3 Eyes (Seima Densetsu)
Happy Lesson (Advanced)
Sister Princess (Repure)

Actually, in looking in Enc. it looks like there are many older titles with that style (City Hunter 2, City Hunter 3) but as of late, it hasn't been so.
