Hello. Im Flame-G102, but please, just Call me Flame.(username was taken. what can I say. *shrugs*)
hmmm... about myself... lets see. Im a guy, 17, 18 in April, and My 2 top favorite animes are (in no particular order,) Nightwalker, and Saber Marionette J. Im quite fond of the type of anime art from around the 90's as seen in particularly Nightwalker and Eatman. dunno, cant quite put my finger on it, but I just love the character art for em. My favorite Anime character however, Is Anime Tenchou. videogames,... I like mostly Megaman with Sonic in close second. I try to never miss a Megaman game. nice to meet you all, Im on VARIOUS other forums, mainly Rockman Perfect Memories, gaia, and Deviant art, usually under Flame, Flame G102, or in Gaia, Fame Wily. if your ever on one of them, give a shout. |

Well I'm new here, I figured I'd drop in and ask a few questions. I caught the Narito movie on Cartoon Network the other day as well as Bakugan and liked them both. Have these series been around a while and is Naruto still being made? Also, what other anime series are action packed and worth checking out?

Pets: Used to have: a goat, hamsters, turtles, a green spider, a bat called Bowtie, and three rabbits. Now own: Two hamsters called Ham and Bacon. Likes and hobbies: Manga, drawing manga, music (playing and listening to it - I used to write some, but now I just play the piano and violin, a tiny bit of guitar, and wish I could for cello), children, anime, writing, biking, hats, rings, collecting pocket knives, games, spiders, photography, horseriding, shooting, 4x4 driving and driving, archery, in short: all sports, coffee sweets, chocolate (especially dark chocolate), digital designing, talking, taking ice-cold showers, painting, sketching, reading, Go, cooking, baking, reading tarot, cleaning, crafts and building them, the smell of coffee, etc. etc. etc. Dislikes: Wimps, when best efforts aren't given, people who think they're cool but aren't, worms, spicy food, off-key tones, people chewing food when watching a movie, really dumb and unoriginal shoujo (especially where the girl meets a guy and without knowing anything except for his handsome face, believes she is in love with him - and the series works on this "strong" love that they both have for each other throughout three days' time), bad voice acting (a good example would be in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, japanese version - usually due to bad directing though; and ALL english dubs), and the dark. Best anime in my opinion: Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Monster, Samurai Champloo, NANA, Deathnote, all of studio ghibli's work except for the one done by Miyazaki's kid (Earthsea), Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, and Juuni Kokki. Best manga: Not too sure...There were and are lots of good ones. Hikaru no Go, Black Cat, all of Sahara mizu's stuff mainly for the interesting atmosphere of the illustrations and storyboards, NANA, Inuyasha, Zetman, Homunculus, Gyo!, Monster, Perfect Girl Evolution, Bleach, and plenty of others. Favourite food (desserts count right?): (Am vegetarian) Honey cake with almond topping, carrot cake, blueberry cheesecake, mango cheesecake (particularly the crust), pancakes (mango pancakes, honey pancakes, avocado pancakes, passion fruit pancakes, peach, apricot pancakes, walnut and almond mini-pancakes, the list goes on), tarts, avocados, onigiri, sushi, soba, udon, samosas, radish cake, pocky, quiche, waffles, steamed buns, doughnuts, cookies, mochi (flavours tried and liked so far: honeydew, chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, pandan, grape, redbean's alright, white and black sesame seed covering, orange, pear, cherry with the pretty sakura wrapping o(>w<)o, peach, lemon/lime, other tastes I couldn't determine), fried nori (crispy), rice crackers, rice cakes, and many others I can't remember. Which occasionally makes me feel like I'm being called a sow, which should bother me, but I'm too busy being happy that people aren't addressing me by "Saurlksix." Dislikes: Video games where you can't jump, and video games that don't let you save whenever you want. The smell of smoke. Those people who make me ashamed to admit to the normal world that I like anime, because they give people who like it a bad name. You know, "that guy," to coin a phrase from the Answerman columns. I also don't like people who don't know what they're talking about, but still try to talk, and staunchly hold their incorrect position. Opinions are good to have. Conviction can be admired. But I just can't stand willful ignorance. Favorite Anime: Paprika (I thought it was amazing). Slayers. Akira. Howl's Moving Castle. Princess Mononoke. Spirited Away. (Howl's and Spirited are probably my two all-time favorite Miyazaki movies.) Chobits. Metropolis. Mahoromatic. Serial Experiments Lain. Tenchi Muyo. Vampire Hunter D. And the original Pokemon series (I couldn't get into that sequel crap, and the games with the fancy names like "Diamond" and "BLUE SUPER PEARLIZED RUBY DELUXE." Back in my day, we hiked a mile to Lavender Town, barefoot, IN THE SNOW.) Want to Watch: This is a small working list. Witchblade, Black Blood Brothers, Ergo Proxy, Chrono Crusade, Noir, Ah! My Goddess, Claymore, DNAngel, Paradise Kiss, Trinity Blood. Favorite Manga: Paradise Kiss, Chobits, Pet Shop of Horrors, Death Note. I don't see much manga here in this small town, but I'm trying. Sort of. Favorite Books: The Xanth and Incarnations books by Piers Anthony, The Book of Shadows by James Reese, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Women by Bukowski, Geek Love by Katharine Dunn, Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, the Elric of Melnibone saga by Michael Moorcock, and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. Favorite Game: PORTAL! My god I loved it. The Silent Hill series is pretty high up there. I gobbled up Mass Effect. I adore Viva Pinata. Katamari Damacy was AMAZING. I also enjoyed F.E.A.R., and I keep going back to play the Baldur's Gate games. I still have a deep love for the original Quake. (i am also slightly addicted to the sims 2.) Favorite TV shows/Movies: Daria, Jacob's Ladder, Session 9, Star Trek, Donnie Darko, The Secret of My Success, Cherry 2000, Bladerunner, The Mummy Returns, 13 Ghosts, Dead Alive, Dr. Who (the Sci-Fi remake), The Matrix and The Matrix: Reloaded, House, House on Haunted Hill, The Fifth Element, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Moulin Rouge, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Birdcage, Guys and Dolls, Chicago, Boondock Saints, Ferngully, Mirrormask, Little Shop of Horrors, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Stargate, Shaft. Favorite Drink: White Russians/Brown Cows. Bailey's Irish Cream in coffee is good. Non-Alcoholic Drink: White pomegranate-blueberry tea, Arizona Pomegranate Tea, sweet tea, Dr. Pepper, Cheerwine, YooHoo, Sun Drop. I've also been known to drink Bawls when I can find it. Favorite Foods: Did I mention I liked brownies? Macaroni and cheese. Almost any kind of pasta, really. I wee myself whenever I'm promised tortellini, or baked ziti... or lasagna... or alfredo. And my boyfriend makes the most to-die-for chicken parm I have ever tasted. Jalapeno poppers are always good. I like salad if it doesn't come out of a bag. My preferred pizza has pesto sauce, feta cheese, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, pinapple, and jerked chicken if you want meat. And when I get the rare opportunity to scarf sashimi, I do. I listen to a lot of industrial and rock I can sing along with. I like few J-rock bands... and I was recently introduced to "Funky Monkey Babys" [sic. Apparently it is not spelled "Babies."] which is supposed to be Japanese rap. (Very little of it sounds like rap to me, but it's catchy as all get-out.) Job: I own my own jewelry-making business and attend college full-time. Hobbies: Photography, making jewelry, playing video games (not just survival horror, but also role-playing, first person shooters, and anything else that tickles my fancy), cooking, art of all kinds. And I take more naps than anyone should. And I've been known to join in a play-by-post RP on a forum if it's -really- interesting. (And if the other members have half a brain.)
