They allowed the use of "dammit" "damn" and "dumbass" in it. I looked at the "Rated T" box but it didn't say anything about language like it used to. No language was used anywhere else in magazine. Was this an error on Viz's part (not editing it for SJ after making the graphic novel version)?

Maybe they finally realized that editing swear words to say "drat" and "blast" while the characters are getting cut in half by giant swords and monsters didn't really go together well, especially considering that the magazine is "Rated T for Teens."
I know they uniformly decided to cut out "bad language" from all their SJ titles at some point because of their target audience, though I can only shake my head at the hypocritical stance they take on content.

I'm guessing they only included curse words, because it's so boring, that they're the only way you'll pay attention to the story.

Wow, I forgot to read this one. My mom gets it (Shonen Jump) randomly at her office for free.
I think that they didn't edit it because it's just material from the first volume. It'll have some edits to the language afterwards. Which is what they've done to some other titles (Naruto, One Piece, Bleach). Viz is very inconsistent anyways, so you shouldn't put much stock into it until you see massive changes, not minor and sporadic ones.
Bleach only has mild swearing for like 2 volumes (I think it's 1 and 5), but in volume 20, the word "bastard" suddenly comes up. Like I said before, they're just very inconsistent.

It's an amusing read and the two main characters play off each other well- but it's difficult to shake the feeling that this is nearly the exact same premise as Rosario X Vampire, which they previewed just a few months ago. Albeit with the roles reversed and no high-school romance angle, but of course the BL fangirls will take care of that in short order.

Yes, it's funny they are similar stories, but I was surprisingly entertained by Nora (I was honestly expecting it to be pretty bad)...whereas I can't stand Rosario and Vampire. I just might consider getting the first volume of Nora, but knowing that it was one of the series that died along with Monthly Jump, I'm kinda wary about collecting a series that may or may not be incomplete.
edit: Actually, I think I might be incorrect. Looks like it ended well before Monthly Jump was canceled.
