Well, I don't know about anything on the DVD, but I do know that nothing has really been released except for some concept sketches.
There wouldn't be any footage of actors or anything, as no one has been cast yet. As far as I know anyway.

Yeah I just watched it yesterday. It wasn't anything big. It was just an interview with two guys who are working on the project. I didn't watch the whole thing, but I don't think it was much more than that.

Well being that it was an ADV extra based on an ADV interview with WETA placed on the Director's Cut DVD as a means to promote the re-release of the last two dvds, I doubt you'll be seeing the interview for download (legally at any rate) because I'm sure that ADV reserved rights of some sort when they put it out.
It was mainly just WETA people talking about how excited they were to be working on Evangelion anyway and talked a bit about how they planned on approaching the film. They showed a bit of concept art too, you can find links to all of that on the last thread that addressed the WETA-EVA interview.
Hope that helps

Don't get too excited. It's only an idea at this stage (kinda like the Battle Angel movie...for years now). They still have to get a studio to pay for it.

It's an idea that will probably never actually amount to anything.

As far as I know, they have had the casting call already, I can't remember which magazine it was, but, it had it on the Eva movie. Here's some of the people that I can remember that they had in there:
Hillary Duff
Shawn Ashmore
The guy who played Magneto and Gandalf (can't remember name)
The guy who played the one elf in LOTR (same as above)
The kid who played Harry Potter (same as first)
There's more, but, I can't remember who.
[Edit: The magazine was Anime Insider, the issue with Kenshin on it. ~Carol]

Those were simply Anime Insider's choices for the roles - there has been no casting details to date.

In some ways, I hope a comet crash lands into Gainax, WETA and Hollywood simultaneously to prevent, what is most likely to be, a disaster of biblical proportions (eva pun intended).
On the other hand, I really love Anno's last live action movie. It had a similar spirit to Eva and the same composer who did the piano for Eva.
Then again I think that was pretty low budget and small. What's the saying? Crawl, Walk, Run

If I recall what one person said, Hilary Duff has already done stuff with Evangalion. Don't know if this is right or not.

Hillary Duff . No, no ,no. That would have to be the worst casting choice ever.
The cast should be all unknowns except for Shinji, he needs to be somebody recognizable. Here's a thought, how about Halley Joel Osmond (sp?). He's really a good actor and he's still young enough, that is if the movie were made any time in the near future.

Here's a thought, how about a mostly non-caucasian cast? The characters are virtually all Japanese. I don't know about other people but the movie will automatically be wrecked for me if Shinji is some daffy little white boy.

As opposed to some daffy little japanese boy? I don't think that the casts ethnicity is really going to make or break the movie for me. While I agree that I'd like to see a mostly unkown group of actors portraying the eva characters, I do not see how the movie would be trashed by throwing in caucasians. (personally I found, in evangelion as in most animes, you couldn't tell an asian character from non-asians)
I agree though, it only makes sense that a movie set in Japan would have a predominantly asian cast, It comes off as vaguely irritating to me though to assume that if certain ethnicities are altered that the movie would be worse off.
On a lighter note I can't wait to see who they cast for Rei, and Asuka (assuming the film ever gets off the ground). It would be interesting if they decided to stick with blue hair for Rei (and red eyes) though I suppose the likelyhood of that is virtually nill

As long as this movie OST has Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins in it, then it will be good. haha!
Hmm the proto type sketch designs are so-so, which is a suprise coming from WETA. And what is up with everything looking dark like X-men and Batman? Blah.. well here is hoping for a good soundtrack and cinemaphotographer (sp).
