Awesome. Thanks, ANN. Oh, and it's not an opinion, Takada-san; it's a fact. Just like her art, she's a very classy lady.

The interview made me want to watch Creamy Mamy again (and I'll try to finish Kimagure Orange Road, too bad I can't stand that anime).
But it seems she had nothing interesting to say, that's a pity. Last edited by Urd on Sun May 04, 2008 7:04 am; edited 1 time in total |

Just when I was wondering if Akemi Takada ever did manga, now I know.

I totally agree about the classy part. They don't make them like her no more. |

Very good interview & for a change we actually got to see Evan ask a question in Japanese & see the response. BTW, Evan, how weird was it to translate your own question?
BTW, I know it would lengthen the video & slow things down to tape & translate both sides of an interview. The way ANNtv currently does it with only showing the interviewee's response & translation is fine. Occasionally like this, I would like to see Evan or another interviewer on-camera for 1 or 2 questions. I believe ANN has already reviewed Princess Collection V1; I'm going to try & find it to see how bad it was trashed... Edited: My bad, there is no GN review for this! I must have seen some oter Princess whatever... |

Not a bad interview, and I really enjoyed it. How ever, I'd really like to know what ever happened to the ANN TV Anime Jump Show? Any new information on that would be highly encouraged.

The second picture from left is eerily close to how Ms. Takada looks in the interview. |

Seems to be in a state of Limbo, as Mike's professional obligations have left him with not enough time to rework his production in a new, unfamiliar piece of software (which he switched to after a disasterous HD crash). Hopefully he'll be back. Cross your fingers. |

JESUS I was very exited I had always admired her! her work is just gorgeous ans jesus christ I would sell my soul for a princess collection T_T!!!! I hope they make jewel princess collection!
Ahhh THANK YOU VERY MUCH I was like "OMG!" she said so MANY interesting things and she is so true about that they only make commercial anime now, it doesn't have heart at all TAT! She is one of the last true illustrators that I still admire for her art and ideology I mean pretty much all of the artist/illustrators/authors that I admired went to the shonen ai fan base to SELL . but she is still straight to her ideals! that's class! <3 please Takada sensei keep the good work!!! |

Good interview, but the "Princess Collection" she showed us seems to be aimed at a very distinct demographic, so its adult appeal may be limited.
Her jewellery design could become very useful for limited-edition merchandising, if it hasn't already been used to that end. |

That Patlabor art shown in the vid, coupled with the Buried Treasure on Patlabor, really makes me want to rewatch my Patlabor DVDs again.

Nice video, I really liked how the motion stopped and text of the question appeared, very nice. The content of the interview is ok but I can't say I'm really excited by anything she said, of course that is in no way ANN's fault. Cool vid though.

Good interview.
Is it just me or was that "Hero's Come Back" playing in the background near the end? Must be difficult filming in that kind of environment.
Glad to hear that there is a chance of seeing more of Mike. |

Many many years ago, I've attended an exhibition of Takada sensei's works in Hong Kong. All I have to say is......... if you think her works look fine on prints, wait till you see them in real life.............. they were totally breath taking.
I almost had a chance to meet her in person and attend an autograph session~ but I was too young back then, and the weather was really really bad on the opening day....... it still remains as one of my biggest regrets in my life.......... She is one of the artist, character designer that I admire the most. I really wish we'll get to see her character design in anime again in the near future. |
