The original movies weren't exactly good but they were entertaining enough and found a lot of success internationally. The recent Netflix series they did wasn't even that though and was just awful.

Never saw the previous reboot stuff, looking at the comments here makes it likely I never will.
I liked the original movie, I hated the sequel, and I didn't really understand the follow-up movies and how they fit together. As to the new franchise reboot movie, it is probably a case of, "who cares what went wrong in the last reboot", and we will just make a new and younger cast of characters. What could go wrong with that. With that pessimism said, maybe we will be surprised and it turns out good. |
