I'd rather not know of the manga details, not in case they get changed but rather if they're not portrayed right; Heaven's Lost Property's anime adaptation forced me to choose and I went with anime.... though I still collect Yotsuba because it's Yotsuba.
It doesn't keep me from feeling when something's off in an adaptation but at least I can ignore it. With that in mind, why is Hana chasing around Anne like a lovesick puppy?
"Blue Spring" is yuri, right, or is an example of the old anime classic, "romantic girl friendship"? People really don't like the last one, though I consider it sperate from both yuri and "yuri baiting".
Ah, yuri without romance versus romance without yuri, I guess. I've never seen Sound Euphonium but I'd say Lagrange: Flowers of Rinne is romantic girl friendship complete with a scene where the girls kiss one another versus Miniskirt Pirates where every girl seems to be gay but there's no romance.
Curiously, both leads seem to be gay coded.... and so far, that's where I'll put Hana.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this episode as the MC seemed as annoying as the girl she was trying to befriend for most of it. It also seemed like an extreme character shift for her to go from shy, retiring type to full Mizuki mode. But the end really pulled it all together, mostly powered by the awesome scenery and music IMHO.

Episode 6 - I wasn't expecting the show to become an ensemble drama, but I'm okay with that too. I said at the beginning of this season that Winter 2025 was a bit light on the slice of lifes, and that's why I was relying on isekai like Welcome to Japan Ms. Elf and Midlife Shopper to fill that void even though both shows have other elements. Flower and Asura seems to be doing a good job in that regard too. Really enjoying this anime.
Also Sato is the first musical artist of the season that I've looked into.

They have slowly been adding some depth to most of the characters so that works out. I do say most though since a few of the gang just feel kind of there right now and could use a bit of time in the spotlight (looking at you Touga). An I have rather mixed feelings about, she explained why she acted the way she did but it was rather malicious in nature and she can still be rather sassy.
I do have to laugh at Hana and Matsuyuki forming a connection and An trying to shut that down.

Welp, you got your wish about Touga. Got to say, I liked that gorgeous piano scene at the end.
I was a little surprised to find that our MC is a good actress after that disastrous morning announcement she made the first time she went on the PA system.
I'm also more than a little curious about the relationship between our MC and that byatchy celebrity poem reader, given the way they had that slo-mo screen shot where the two passed each other in a window diametrically opposed to each other.
I think it's official that this show is not at all what I expected it to be - centrally focused on the relationship between the two people on the promo art - which is fine, but I think it might cost it some viewers. It's slow paced and minimalist which I suspect will also cost it some viewers, but I'm still in. The show is obviously a labor of love.

Yeah, with Touga having received some attention the characters now all have enough depth to make you root for them. Given that the show is slowly heading towards the competition that is a good thing (and necessary). MC wise it makes sense, she has issues with confidence but she is very good at delivering a performance tailored to the viewer/listener. That goes for reading but acting too it seems. Finally, let's be real, a show about a broadcasting club was bound to be niche by definition.

Not as slow paced and minimalist as Super Cub (of which I loved Episodes 1-10 and 12). It is this type of presentation and pacing in large part (cute instead of ugly girls being the other) why I prefer anime to "western" cartoons.

I like that every episode expands the world of recital. From only Hana at first to getting pulled into a club by Mizuki to then learning more about the people in said club and now other schools are introduced (with strong competitors). Every week ads more to the mix.
Also, a random thought while watching episode 9, like 60% of the drama in the show thus far has been caused by An being prickly and not the easiest person to communicate with.

The really annoying part is that obviously it's not just Hana who knows about this relationship but every time it's about to come out, the show gets distracted by another character's drama.
I kept the top part because I think they're related as it seems Hana herself is being recognized. That is, the two scenarios are related but not the characters, maybe.
Regardless, I do feel its reveal will change the way we view Hana's character permanently which is why it's being withheld. I get that but it's really getting annoying, especially when I think it's about to happen just for the show to pull a "not today".
I'm thinking extremely localized childhood actress... and that would explain a few things.
