Oh wow. I thought for sure Discotek would get this. Oh well! GKids keeps on cooking! I know nothing about this movie other than that Hideaki Anno directed it, but I know it has its fans.

So, was the movie shot in HD digital video? Not sure when HD video movie cameras came out.
