I have to admit, Blood old buddy, I thought that Beltane's perverse psychology might work better than reverse psychology. I don't know if I'm proud of you or suddenly feeling like a character in one of those horror movies where they realize the monster has become immune to the tranquilizer.

In Episode 4 we got Dragon Akane, possibly even better than Succubus Akane.

Yup, everyone knew it was coming and with episode 5 the drama has arrived. I get that Akane is a tsundere but her being so adament and not honest about her feelings while being jealous at the same time is a tad frustrating. Meanwhile Himari is getting the expected result which already hurts and she still has to find out about her best friend being married to her crush (I get that it is for drama's sake but Akane should have been honest).

Yah, I'm not a big fan of love triangles, but it's not like they're a deal breaker when done well. I'm currently enjoying both Okitsura and Blue Box which both have that element. But I don't think it's being well handled here.
In fact, I'm probably going to punch out of this anime. It started out strong, but I've been liking it less and less each week.

I like Akane because she resembles Kobeni Yonomori from Engaged to the Unidentified/Mikakunin de Shinkōkei and not just for the arranged marriage commonality. It also is cute how she keeps being unable to suppress her real feelings - enough for me to keep watching.

Episode 7 made me a bit wary about where the rest of the season is likely going. So far the show has been a mix of regular romantic progression, some silly slice of life fun and a bit of drama (plus being cruel to Himari). This week the good old evil mother trope got introduced and judging by the end the jealous thieving little sister is upcoming.

Episode 8
It must be long enough since Oreimo that little sisters being a thing is making a comeback.
Maybe the answer is all five main characters in a polygamous relationship?

As of episode 9 it does not seem to be going in that direction at all. It seems like the show is going to keep getting increasingly chaotic with the main couple slowly but surely becoming honest with one another. That goes particularly for Akane who can still be real stubborn and a master at lying to herself.

Wonder if Maho gets removed from the equation by dying, or would that be too dark?

Can I just say how much I appreciate how they poked fun at the "mysterious girl from childhood" trope. I loved that Saito just said for the most part he doesn't give a crap about that, that is in the past, and not let that determine his future.
