Well, Kiyoka's Mom has officially been upgraded from mere Cow status to Super Cow. The show is obviously laying the groundwork to rehabilitate her character / explain her attitude but I'm not having it. Insult my precious Miyo, will you? To Hell with thee, Super Cow! |

This arc is absolutely going to be about how the mother in law totally has her reasons and so now [whatever happens] we all need to get along. I'm just so not here for it.
Not only in the standard sense of just not being sympathetic to this woman, but in that this really appears like a holding pattern for the story where we are almost repeating the character development from the last season. |

I really don't see it that way. In fact, the fact that Miyo hasn't buckled under the pressure that her future monster-in-law put on her is a demonstration on the level of confidence that she has attained thanks to Kiyoka. The thing is that there will always be someone giving Miyo a hard time. That element is baked into the show.

The stick with partner development- yes. The deep passivity and lack of communication to that partner- not so much. But I guess thats probably baked in as well.
The father-in-laws attitude seems interesting. Even though I'm sure the reasons won't be reasonable to me I'll be watching as its well made and I think they will be a good backstory. |
