Of course they flex her best assets and show her fighting Chun-Li in their classic outfits.

I never thought it would happen. Mai Shiranui in a "Street Fighter" game. One could say that she's going to be basically eye candy for a lot of the guys who play this game. Well,"Street Fighter" has it's own pretty women as well. Never imagined I'd see Mai in this game. I thought she was more at home in games like "Fatal Fury." Well, you know what they say. Life is full of surprises and something like this is a surprise to me.

I'm a bit surprised Capcom allowed OG Mai. I feel like SNK put some pressure on them to keep her original outfit as part of the deal (hence why Sakurai omitted her from Smash rather than censor her)

Uh, Snomaster, you do know the upcoming Fatal Fury game will have Chun-Li and Ken from SF in there, you do know that, right? How on earth did you not know of this? Were you aware Power Ranger: Battle of the Grid has both Chun-Li and Ryu in that game too (oddly enough, this game has not received a Japanese release despite having both SF characters in there)?

I mean, how are you not aware of these Snomaster?

Quite simple,mdo7. I wasn't. I had no idea that a "Power Rangers" game had Chun-Li and Ryu in it or a "Fatal Fury" game with Ken and Chun-Li in it even existed. I make no excuses for it. I was just unaware of anything like this. I'm just surprised that something like that was even possible.

Well, she is a little nerfed, her boobs don't bounce and ser clothes do cover her ass... Which is kinda weird since Cammy's doesn't, I think that one is to protect Cammy's "TM".

Which is interesting given the argument some made about SNK capitulating to certain sensibilities by making her default outfit in the Garou sequel less revealing. All the same I doubt it that’s what happened.

Fun fact: the new outfit its in character.

As a looooong lasting KoF player, I can attest there was a lot of old Mai's art with her being a metalhead/wearing biker outfits in the 90s.

That part of her was abandoned with the times, but it's obvious that the team reviving Fatal Fury took a look at this old art and decided to revive it.
