Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga:
This project has in general a good story and characters, great visual design (except for everybody's heads are too wide), but low class, goofy, smily-cheesy, cheap plot moves. The characters have been intentionally made stupid and forgetful to create fake drama. It is lazy writing as author did not care enough to throw away the contrived twists to think deeper and come up with something more believable. Overall, despite the drawbacks it is not a monster-of-the-week project, so the worst anime sin has been avoided. Thus the fair rating for this show is between "Good" and "Very good", and since I am, as always, kind, I voted the latter. |

Shimane Illuminati Saga Episodes 1-6
No, I'm not actually going to talk about all six episodes. That would require energy and motivation and other stuff I don't own. But I did want to say how freakin' much I'm enjoying this arc. Damn, I liked the Kyoto Saga too but this one is kind of blowing that out of the water. Izumo's backstory is... intense. It certainly explains why she is the way she is. Rewatching the franchise will be interesting with this knowledge. Anyway, this show is right up there with Frieren for titles I am absolutely loving the heck out of. |

I say this arc's villain has done a great job of being totally disgusting, and hoping for someone to punch him in the face.

Well I am just glad this arc gets animated before My Hero Academia animates their later arcs, because people be screaming ripoff even though this series did it first.
On another note, the Illumanati's second in command, she got some big breasts, does she look like that in the manga?, or are the animators taking some liberties. Normally that type of character with that type of personality are flat chested.Of course there could be a reveal that she is stuffing her chest. |

Beyond the Snow Saga Episode 10
I think it might have been all the way back in season 1 (or maybe it was season 2) where someone said that Yukio has the worst kind of personality for an exorcist since he keeps everything bottled in. The show has been building the ground work for his eventual fall for quite a while. Just this latest thing of him trying to seek comfort from Shiemi and it ending up backfiring was predictable, but it was still such a strong moment. This slowly building frustration within Yukio I think has been handled very well and my prediction for a while has been that he is going to defect to Illuminati. I wouldn't trust my own dumbass predictions but it does seem to me he is just about to break (or he already did considering he just attempted suicide). |

I've always considered Yukio a turd, actually. Wouldn't shock me if he went full demon. Good riddance!

Woah, calm down Satan.
Well yeah Yukio has been a bit of an ass particularly towards Rin throughout the show, but his viewpoint has become clearer and more understandable as the show has gone on. I wouldn't be opposed to a good punch in the face, but I've come to kinda like that grumpy dude. |

When this previous season was airing, I wanted to talk about this, but couldn't find this thread till now.
If I can go back to last season the Illuminati arc, anyone think that Izumi's coldness towards and willing to accept Shiemi friendship for a long time, has something to do with Shiemi physically resembling Maria, the woman from the Illuminati that while I wouldn't say betrayed her that is not fair but let her down, didn't deliver on her promise, and that is why Izumi was extra harsh on Shiemi than she was with the others. |

The Blue Night Saga, Episode 1
Ooo, strong start! I admit I was a bit leery once it was obvious this was going to be an extended flashback, but dang, Yuri is just so adorable that I'm all in. Seeing Shiro's origin story is also interesting. Blue Exorcist has always been great at making me feel stuff and this instalment seems like that'll continue. Which is good because I didn't super love the last cours, Beyond the Snow Saga, so it feels great being hyped about BE, again. |

I have a question, if Rin is going to make it through this whole arc without interfering with anything, why not make him invisible, heck make him like a ghost not only can't be seen but can't touch anything either. Why no do that, it would make things easier?
