Poor Ayaka waking up in a jail cell but at least it looks like Saber is about to pull a jailbreak.

Not really. Case files already had episode 0. In terms of preair, several shows get preairs in events and cons (Zombielabd Saga S1, or this season’s Momentari Lily are examples). It just happens this is one of the rare cases where the preair is public rather than limited to such events and cons.
In terms of the wait: it’s no secret A1 are a busy studio and Aniplex don’t manage all their stuff well, leading to issues and delays. F/SF is another such troubled production. But really, it’s a sad fact that almost every modern anime production faces issues and it’s easier to count and mention the sadly limited cases of healthy production.

I don't think I've ever seen a more obnoxious drip-feed rollout than this shit.
Even Attack on Titan's final season was less annoying than this. But then again, it IS Fate...

Thanks for explaining why the rollout has been strange because of a troubled production, but I already knew that. But good on you for letting others know; don't know why you would preface it with a "not really" though, it would be really stupid to type out a paragraph that is the opposite of what you intend.
