I knew what I was getting into, but still I amazed how quick this series shifted from a romance series to a sports series in just a couple of episodes.

Did I misunderstand, or did Taiki's badminton season come to a stop here? If that is the case, I'd hate be that Shuji Yusa guy if it meant I was an anime character and my health and ability to compete was the only thing standing between the protagonist and his goal to compete at nationals alongside the romantic co-lead...

I like the switching between genres. There is always a bit of romance or sport present but the show seems to go from primarily one genre to the other for a few episodes. As for the most recent ones, given how positive Taika was before the tournament I was fully expecting him to lose. I did not expect things to end that fast though.

Chinatsu is often a bit of a cypher - I thought Taiki's interior monologue about she's like her father were pretty on point there - but that was a hell of an expression on her face at the end of episode 10.

So what is going on with the English dub. Is there one? Because when I went on Netflix today, the preview clip they have for Blue Box is in English, than I went to check out episode 1 and still Japanese only.

Well, the show finally started laying it a little heavier on the drama.
Chinatsu's misunderstanding...not just of Taiki's "lie" but her own feelings...
.
...Hina's attempts to break out of the friend zone...
...the various friends watching and rooting or competing from the sidelines...
...and fireworks!
Ah, the bittersweetness of young love. It feels like I ought to say "schadenfruede" somewhere in here, but I'm finding it surprisingly hard to work into a sentence casually.
We usually use schadenfreude when we're talking about taking enjoyment out of watching someone suffer because there's something particularly amusing or a kind of karma in the scenario. Is enjoying watching a show about young loves stewing in angst and suffering poignantly also a kind of schadenfruede?
Anyway, I think the part I enjoyed the most was Taiki and Chinatsu interacting naturally around the lost child.

Is the show taking a break until next year?

From what I understand, the show is going to run continuously until the end of Winter season, 25 episodes in all. I don't know if it will take a week break during the interim period as carryover shows sometimes do or not.

Okay, this is definitely skipping a week during the interim

Welp, Blue Box is back, and I have to say that I found this episode 100% annoyance free myself. I like Karen as a supporting character a lot. She's fun, and she's kind of a female counterpart to Kyo when it comes to bringing some common sense to the proceedings.
So...Chinatsu is in Haryu's class, which means this is her last year at nationals too, right? The show keeps talking about Taiki and nationals next year, and it's a sports show...but if Chinatsu is gone and graduated by that point...it makes me wonder how long the manga series is or what they're going to after Chinatsu's nationals are over .
Anyway, I like the new OP and like the closing piece even better...

I dunno if anybody else in these parts is still watching this show, but I think episode15 might be my favorite even though there were a godawful lot of bad omens happening. The ankle bracelet. The "Looks like the weather's going to be changing soon" comment. Etc.
It was good to see Chinatsu casting off some of the reserve. And holy crap, what a gorgeous beach scene.
