I hope this game collection may get a Playstation & Xbox version in the near future, I hope.

There was a miss opportunity if they had included the anime OVA promo for the Famicom/NES version of Valis as a special bonus given that this anime promo OVA was directed by none other then Hideaki Anno, with character design done by Katsuhiko Nishijima. So this anime promo OVA could be a big significant interest amongst fans of Anno's work if that OVA promo could get an HD restoration and with a English subtitle if they had included it as a special feature. I mean Hideaki Anno is becoming a big celebrity in Japan and USA on almost on the same status as Hayao Miyazaki so that's a good reason for that particular anime OVA promo to be given an HD restoration and included as a bonus/special feature for the collection.

Long before I really knew what anime was I rented Valis III for the Genesis because I liked the box art.

It was a gateway drug in a sense.

What's funny (or sad?) is that there's also an official hentai game (remake of the first two games) called Valis X. It was poorly made and received though and Telenet Japan went bankrupt a year after its release.

I like this game series. Yes, it's fanservicey and the platforming action is nothing short of brutal but it has a special charm to it. Plus, Yuko is a babe! Smile

But also, the PC-Engine versions and the Genesis games and the lone SNES game are in my view, the only Valis games anyone really needs to play as the mechanics were properly refined by that point. That being said, I look forward to picking this series up on Steam. Smile

The Anno-directed anime ad is included in the third Valis collection on Switch as an extra, since that's the collection that actually includes Famicom Valis, so imagine it'll still be there when the third collection released on Steam.

I wasn't aware of this information but thank you for this info. I have a question though regarding the Anno-directed ad that is included in the 3rd Valis collection on Switch:

Has the ad been given a high definition restoration for the collection, or is the ad still in it's low-res quality as it was from it's VHD capture? If the Anno-directed ad has been given an HD restoration, then why the heck I can't find it on Youtube, or elsewhere? Give me the link to the HD restored ad if you can find it?
