Yup, I meant Greed. I'm just going to have to start calling the Sin Archbishops the way I think of them, Fangs, Bandages, and Stalker-san.

Make that Fangs, Bandages, Stalker-san, and Loli Creepo.
I've never claimed that this anime is perfect, but one thing that it does do really well is make villains that I really, really want to see get their faces punched in. And I'm not talking about Reinhard's father although that was satisfying.
Some traits that all of the sin archbishops seem to have in common is the tendency toward really annoying insane monologues, an intimidating level of power, a delight in inflicting harm on helpless innocents, and a strange combination of narcissism and a lack of self-awareness.
That Circe routine where Loli Creepo was turning hostages into monsters is an example. Stalker-san declaring women his wives and making them slaves is another.

My eyebrows started to twitch when Subaru spent the first 90 seconds of his speech explaining how useless and weak he was over and over, but I did feel like he brought it home in the end.
I'm fantasizing that Emilia is going to lead the other captive wives in an uprising against Hubby when they get to the "Does anyone object" part of the ceremony. If even half of them are as powerful as Emilia is, that could be some serious comeuppance.

It's a sixteen episode season, and they broke it into two halves, the bastards. I think it picks up again in February.

It took me this long to hop back on the Re:zero train.
I've got to say, I am not a big fan of this new thing where there are 15 episodes with a big long break in the middle, so that you get 7 or 8 episodes, a cliffhanger, and then several months in between. The extra 2 of 3 episodes isn't worth it IMHO. Now if they had more double course anime by having a season long break between them, I'd be all over it.
I like season 3 of this show overall. I was totally on board at first, but then the cast of characters kept expanding and the the show broke into at least one too many simultaneous fight scenes IMHO, making it hard for me to stay attentive and invested the whole time. I'm into the Garfiel/Wilhelm fight because the stakes are so personal for Wilhelm, and I'm into the Subaru/Emilia/Reinhard fight because I hate El Creepo so much, but I find myself watching everything else play out a little impatiently while waiting for the show to get back to those two storylines. And it's not that they're bad - it's just that as soon as I start to get into one confrontation I get yanked into another one, and then another one until it just feels like I'm getting jerked around
I had a theory that the source of El Creepo's invulnerability was his large number of wives...like the reason he was collecting them and brainwashing them was that he was using them as some kind of energy batteries...but it looks like I was wrong. I sort of get what Subaru was saying - it sounds like El Creepo glitched himself into god mode by stepping out of the time flow...but I'm not sure why that involves him not having a heart (is it just not beating?) or what it has to do with the name Regulus.
Guess I'll find out next week.
