I think he did die or at least his body actually did by burning into a crisp. As for if his soul can reincarnate or something else....maybe? I took that weird spiel to indicate that he will be gone but not really, there is also the matter of him having used that corpse thingy to talk to someone.
As for the military base, you do see one of the officers with a bug on his neck plus the yellow eyes to indicate that Zhou controlled them, though I do wonder if he only controlled the leading officers or all soldiers in the base. In case of the latter that seems a tad overpowered. |
