Gotta say, it’s disappointing seeing Delicious in Dungeon and Shangri-La Frontier here…

Definitely more surprised than usual by the choices here. Although, I think AJ picking Shangri-La makes sense, since I think he was mostly let down by how effectively and rapidly SL raised the narrative stakes, then completely changed gears.

Plenty of stuff I dropped but the worst I watched to completion would be Ishura. The action is good but there is just too much setup for payoffs that aren't that engaging. The worst thing that you can say when watching a show with a cast this large is "I don't care about any of these people" and I constantly found my self thinking this. I'm not sure i'll watch the next season but, if i do, i don't even mind that it might follow new characters since i cared for none of the survivors of this season
Talking about disapointments:
Metallic Rouge: Takes itself too seriously while not having anything new or well-presented to say. Action and production are good, though.
ShangriLa Frontier: One of the best fights I've seen in anime but the show, overall, exemplifies a big issue with GameLit stories; too much focus on grinding. If it's fun then it doesn't feel like grinding, this is true for actual games and the stories about games. I had similar issues with stuff like Kings Avatar.

Metallic Rouge is definetly the worst anime of this season, and one of the worst I've seen recently. Its pacing is awful, its worldbulinding feels like a post-party brainstorming session, its story is a directionless mess and its characters are one-dimensional, walking tropes all somehow with a mental age of 5. But worst of all, its embarassing attempt at thematic depth is insulting to the very concepts of artificial intelligence, racism, free will, oppression and everything else it so desperately wants, but fails, to say something worthwile about. Still, I'm finishing it out of morbid curiosity as I want to see how mad it can make me and how stupid its ending will be.

Metallic Rouge was the only show I dozed off mid episode; I did not manage to drop it, mainly because I'm curious how they are going to end it.

Personally, I agree with all of the reviewers for their worst picks of the season. I did enjoy Shangri-la Frontier a lot, but I’m still not sure how it was supposed to end or if there’s more. Although someone really should’ve chosen Delusional Monthly Magazine, because that was so abhorrent and ridiculous I’m not sure how it got made. Perhaps the production committee was made up of delusional company executives?
I don’t have high hopes for the spring season either. As of now, it looks to be one of the weakest in recent years. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised after everything has aired a few episodes.

This one was fairly easy this season. Considering drops, it would by default be my only one this season - The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil. From bad comedy timing to just bad jokes in general and what seemed like flip floppy character writing, it just did not have a winning hand. Counting only what I'm going to finish, it is definitely BUCCHIGIRI, from what was a somewhat funny character moment in the beginning turning into one of the most insufferable only-trait-of-personality our main character has to a cast and plot developments that are the opposite of fun, ever since episode three this has had one and only one moment that I particularly appreciated - Mahoro standing up to a dude even though she's getting beaten up. Everything else I've mostly disliked and honestly I should have, and still should, drop this, but I won't

I will agree that the mentioned shows have issues, yet when faced against something as Isekai instant death ability they pale in comparison. That show may have been a fun mess to watch, but it was still very much a huge mess in every single aspect.

I don't think I watched anything bad, and certainly not to completion. I did drop Solo Levelling, as despite promising initial episodes, the quick 1-2 punch of sudden stat screens and protag's bizarre makeover all killed my interest quite handily.
Shangri-La Frontier is definitely the least liked that I finished, though it's fight arc was masterfully done. Outside of that fight though, it all feels like filler- the sort of thing you'd hope a Let's Play would trim down to make room for better material. Very pretty wheel spinning.

Thanks, Nicholas; "protag-nut" is probably forever in my brain now.

As I said in the “best” thread (when I didn’t think there would be a worst list this time since it’s usually with the best list), my biggest disappointment that I can’t actually call the “worst” was Fluffy Paradise. The “survival of the fittest” thing makes sense when you’re talking about creatures similar to wild animals, but when they involved the Kobolds who were basically a whole other race of people it got weird for me. I ended up dropping it.

I barely remember the names from Metallic Rouge. I simply called the lead Takina. Will they smooch?
Solo Leveling was guilty pleasure to me sometimes especially due to how Jinwoo changes his design so suddenly to the point there is nothing subtle about him. Even the voice acting feels different. I defend it over other isekais since at least the protagonist's cause is noble and understandable. Still, it kinda feels like he alone in the top considering most of his friendly partners kinda leave the job.

Half the shows I watched this season are here, lol. The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic, Solo Leveling, Metallic Rouge, Tales of Wedding Rings and Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable. The only one I'm shocked to see here is Hokkaido Gals because quite frankly it was my favorite show of the season.

The theme running through these choices seems to be "not bad, just disappointing" which is a pretty fair summary of several things I watched this season. Some of that may be the result of expectations going into them, like Solo Leveling having plenty of hype and basically being just fine. Metallic Rouge probably fits that bill for me. I guess I thought Bones would do something a bit more...special for an anniversary project, but ended up with something that was ok in some areas and fell flat in others. I wouldn't put Hokkaido Gals on the list here, but then again, it was exactly what I expected it to be, so there's that.
If I had to choose a worst for what I watched, I'd probably give it to Bucchigiri. That is the only one where I came out of an episode thinking it just wasn't good.

Spring looks weak? That has the most stacked seasonal lineup I've seen since I became an anime fan, lol
