Well, this answered the main thing that I was waiting to see, which was was whether all those different forms were going to be treated as distinct characters, or if you could transform mid-fight since Dragonball games have varied on that, and I've always preferred letting you do it mid-fight.

I thought maybe that deflection of the Galick Gun was due to the difference between base Vegeta using it against Goku as Super Saiyan Blue since the Tenkaichi series typically goes with less character balance in favor of making them scale closer to the show, but I guess it's a defense resource you'll manage. That's fine since the power scaling could render plenty of characters useless if it went too far.

So there's this one thing I look for when it comes to any new Dragon Ball game: when Goku is flying, or otherwise moving very fast, does his hair sweep back like actual hair, or just wobble slightly while maintaining the usual shape, as though it were made of plastic? It's a pretty reliable metric of just how much polish is going into the game, overall -- how interested the developer is in all those little details that make Toriyama's art really sing.

Sad to report that in Sparking! Zero, Goku's hair... merely wobbles.

Have there really been that many games without mid-fight transformations? I only remember that one PS3 game -- can't remember which one, the one before Raging Blast, maybe? -- and at the time folks really hated on it for that lack.

The real marker for me -- not to keep harping on animation or anything -- is whether or not those transformations are fully animated, partly animated (using a flash or something to disguise a model-swap), or not animated at all. It's always nice when the animations are fully animated -- especially Freeza's.

Tenkaichi series has always been my favorite kind of DB games but yeah balance-wise they weren't praise worthy 80% of the cast couldn't realistically win at the same skill level win against a Gogeta SS4 or such, I hope they address this issue in this long-awaited new entry, i want to run on those GT characters with my Great Saiyaman like i did in Budokai 3 .
