Quote: | Watase debuted the Arata: The Legend (Arata Kangatari) manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2008. |
Arata was in Shonen Sunday before moving to Sunday Webry where the series finished as of November of this year (Shonen Magazine is a Kodansha publication and Sunday's rival)

Oh? I do have a weakness for FY, so hope the new chapters make their way to English before long, too.

Hopefully her health is improving.
I am still waiting for Genbu Kaiden's anime adaptation.

have not had anything to do with Fushigi Yugi since seeing the anime back in the 90s. Seems very daunting but I want to get into all the newer stuff.

It's actually not that daunting, if you'd like to try and are in the US. There's the original manga (complete in 6 omnibus volumes), the prequel Genbu Kaiden (complete in 12 singles), and then Byakko Senki (incomplete with 1 volume). The original manga is the only one with any anime adaptations, so it's just the manga for the rest.
Genbu Kaiden's later volumes have crept up in price for physical books, but all three FY series are available on the Viz manga app right now. You could drop $2 for a month and read the whole thing quite easily.

Anyone know if "Fushigi Yūgi: Byakko Ibun" was published somewhere in English, or will be anytime soon? I'd be annoyed if Viz left it to a double dip for some omnibus books whenever this series finishes...

@SamusekTDS:
Byakko Ibun has never been published in English officially. The last FY Vizbig and Genbu Kaiden volumes came out before the one shot did in 2015. I was hoping they might put it in as an extra for the Byakko Senki volumes, but it's been on hiatus so long that who knows.
It has been translated by fans, but no licensing announcement.
