Mr. Cocks giving out the dismissal notice is quite the irony.

Not just the lay-offs
If Hasbro does not make a turn in profit soon, they will legit declare bankruptcy and than everyone will be out of a job.

It's been painful over the years watching Goldner build Hasbro up from their previous troubles only for Cocks to tear it all back down.

My personal experience is Hasbro is not a very good company so I can see why these layoffs are happening and profits are down. The only official Transformers figures I've bought in the last few years are Masterpieces, Furai Model Kits, Bishoujo statues, and Takara exclusives like the Beast Wars Again VS Premium Finish subline. All of which I would attribute to the Japanese companies over Hasbro since Hasbro's mainline stuff is very low quality, way overpriced, and just not good. Also the shift to plastic free packaging pretty much sank the collectors market since having a huge gaping window where dust gets in and people can just rip the heads off figures in the store pretty much makes it not worth it.
I can't say I'm into Power Rangers, Dungeons & Dragons, or Magic the Gathering, but I've heard similar complaints from people that are that the quality for all those is really bad as well. I've only heard second-hand things like Magic being very reliant on cross-over Secret Lairs aimed at collectors now since they do well and Power Rangers basically completely divorcing from Super Sentai and doing it's own original stuff now.

I saw this coming when i hear that they where putting most of the financial burden on MTG (i think it was 2016 maybe a bit later) and i watched as they started pushing more and more products to the point i left.
Now little to no people play standard in my card shop and quite a few of the car shops that I’ve been to over the past two years, and the ones i have heard they play is barely hitting the starting minimal player limit.
Now The game is so messed up they are pushing the power level way too high so they can sell cards to commander players and sample giving up on the game they made.

I agree 100% about Transformers. I bought a velocitron scourge for cheap, $16.99 from Ross recently and it just felt so cheap and small. I was worried about it breaking. I am glad I stopped buying them. They have just gotten way to expensive. The last TF I bought before that was MP Ironhide.

A lot of Star Wars and Marvel toys rotting on shelves might do that I guess...

It really hurt for Hasbro to lose the Disney Princess license and have it go back to Mattel. Both companies though have had increasingly low-quality products within the last few years.

1st they should reduce CEO and top brass pay, revamp their TCG so customers has game pieces and high value collectibles (basically don't over print or over charge for products), and then maybe they can finally do layoffs.

Honestly, I'd be fine with those kinds of prices. Considering the MSRP for Scourge is over 50 bucks USD 16 seems like a fair price to me for what it is. Best bet for any mainline toys is to check Walmarts and other shops to see if you can find them for super cheap on clearance.
